Whats up everyone I got some non related GP wheel questions. Im looking for wheels for my GF's car she has a 08 Pontiac G5 with the 5 lug wheels. The bolt pattern is 5x110 with a 42mm offset I believe. Im trying to find 17's or 18's for her preferably OEM wheels. I found some Solstice wheels they are 18's with a 55mm off set they have no tires, polished aluminum basically mint for $300. Figured that's a pretty good deal for them since Im having trouble finding a nice set of wheels local for her car. If the guy still has them Im probably gonna snag them. But I was wondering if the offset would have much of an effect on how they sit on the car, I don't want them to stick out or rub the wheel wells. I know the offset isn't much different but I don't know much about wheel specs. She currently has 16's I believe they are 205/55/16, but does anyone know what tire size would be good for her with the 18's so they wont rub? Any help would be appreciated!

yeah, that bolt pattern is an oddball for sure. finding wheels is a super pain.

the offset being higher means they'll sit IN more on the car. the difference here is going to be how wide each wheel is, which you don't have listed.

overall, you should be pretty safe with offsets like those and them being stock wheels. you'll want to stick with the same overall diameter tire, but width is up to you. i'd bump it to a 225 width to add a little bit of meat to the look.

    Thanks for the info!

I believe the Solstice wheels are 18"x8" the factory tire size on the solstice is 255/45/18

The factory wheel size on the G5 is a 16"x6" with a 205/55/16

I figure Id defiantly have to with atleast a 225 for the width if its an 8" rim?

i run a 225 on my 8.5" wide wheel with zero issues. it'll be pretty square on an 8" wheel.

So I picked up these rims today they are flawless! I got them for 250, The problem is Ive done some research and the G5 forum says that the offset has to range from 35mm-45mm, these wheels are 55mm offset. So I was thinking about getting 10mm spacers (if I can find them) and that should solve the problem I think. Because that would change the offset to 45mm, correct? With the 10mm spacers I would have to get extended studs so they will fit? I was also thinking of running a 225/40/18 tire. Just trying to get this right the first time and not run into any problems.
