Alright, so I bought some 16 inch rims off a 2004 GP. I guess one of the rims is bent from where they dismounted the tires from the rim. I haven't personally seen the rims; I'm at school and my dad picked them up for me. Question is, can a bent rim be fixed and how much? My dad said u would never notice the bent with a tire on it

Yes.. Search on it. I recently did a search locally for a buddy and he had some expensive rim fixed up and recoated/painted etc for around $100 when the rims typically costs $500+
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

When I bought a bent set, I researched and I found the typical price was indeed around 100 a wheel. It depends a lot on how badly it's bent, mine were very noticable with the vibration I had. Edit: They were bent too badly to be balanced at the tire shop. They were bent pretty significantly.

I ended up selling the set on ebay.. I bought them for 400, sold em for 300 and was honest about it, the guy who bought them was actually a fixer upper of bent wheels, and wanted to buy them to fix and sell.

Then I used the 300 to help buy a brand new set off tire rack.

if it's bent, but holds air, keeps the tire mounted, and is able to be balanced decently then i wouldnt even worry about it.

To be honest I haven't done a whole lot of searching just wondering if it could be fixed cheap, as my backup. The guy I Bought them from is trying to get a hold of Sears where he got the tires dismounted but he hasn't called back

I might just get the tires put on and balanced. My dad just feels bad cuz he picked them up he noticed the bent when he got he and when we looked at them on the car they were fine.

Bio you're right, took the rim in and it checked out with no problems. The tire guy said he has seen a lot worse and balanced the rim and tire perfect

perfect. usually if the bend isn't bad then it'll still work out. it's the ones where you pound a giant pothole and it debeads the tire that cause issues.

I'm glad I don't have to pay $95 to get it fixed. I should get pics of the new rims in a week or two and post them on my members ride post. Thanks for the help guys.
