Thanks. As far as width, I was drawing from the old days when modded late 60's Camaro's would run, as they stated " 50's on the rear and 70's on the front". I'm not finding much help from tirerack as far as using different sizes. Tires aren't my thing so perhaps I'm not looking in the right place.
Reptile - what size tire are you running?
Steven - are we getting these?:)
Re: mustang bullits on 04+?
Here is a little run down of the numbers you see on a tire. For example: 245/45/17ZR
245 = tire width in millimeters
45 = sidewall height, 45% of width = 110.25 mm
17 = tire diameter in inches
Z = speed rating
So, if you had an older muscle car with wider rims in the back, you would have something like 295/50/15R's in the back, and 215/70/15R's in the front. The second number is only a ratio of tire width, so with a skinnier tire in front you need a bigger ratio to match the sidewall height of the wider tire in the rear. Make sense? :)

Yep it makes sense except when some got 50's for there car they were wide like slicks and the 70's narrow...I don't know that was over 30 years ago.:p
Good to have this information posted though.

Heck yeah we are, I wanna be the first/maybe first 04+ with these, I called David today about the rims and he has yet to call me back. So hopefully he still has everything we need. and maybe some tires for me.
I have to pick up some things he painted for the F-150 I am working on, so if he doesn't call me back, I will make a special trip to put some fire under his butt. haha.

You can be the first GP. If I went first I wouldn't tell anyone.:D Well I would do my best not to post pictures anyway.
Re: mustang bullits on 04+?

the old bias-ply tires (what you are referring to) were sized differently. the radial tires of today are measured in this new format, typically refered to as P-metric sizing.
(i used to sell tires, so i know stuff that i rarely use anymore :) ) at least with forums like this, i get to use some of it .. haha

Thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering if it had to do with the radials, but completely forgot about the term bias-ply. I do remember back when you had the options of either at the tire shops.

just doing my part to help the community :D
Re: mustang bullits on 04+?
Lee, I've got 245/45/17's on it. Same as the stock tires that came on them when I bought them.
