Got a set of torque stars from the yard they had some curb rash brought them to this place to have it removed he said they are polished I thought they were chrome either way
1.) how can I tell if its polished or chrome?
2.) after he removes the rash how can I polish them?
3.) I am am thinking of painting them myself but am worried about them chipping and needing to be touched up all the time, any special paint I should use I have a compressor and spray gun if that helps you answer me
4.) I don't have a way to bake the paint on

    Thanks

they are all polished with a clear coat unless you are talking the 04+ 17s, which are chrome plated (very poorly).

Yes, but use a wax, not metal polish. Metal polish is gritty and will scuff the clear coat.

Iv done the power ball and drill, didnt do a DAM thing. Iv read alot of great things about
busch's aluminum polish. But havent gotten around to ordering it. Id LOVE to strip that clear coat off without damaging the metal underneath and using that, then getting kbs diamond clear coat and cover her up!

honestly if you're gonna do it, strip all the clear on all the wheels, shine them up nicely, and re-clear them. mine were well taken care of when i got my car and they looked fantastic when clean.
