Thread: if i have a 17 inch rim what tire size can i use?

i have a 99 GTP and stock tire size is 225/60R16 if i put a 17'' rim from an 04+ grand prix on my car what tire size should i get so i dont mess with my speedo?

225/55r17

225/55/17 is the correct size. However you can get a 245/50/17 if you want a little wider tire. Exact same overall size as the oem size.

3.6% means dick. more aggressive tire which looks nicer than stock.

plus or minus 3% is usually in the safe region to change around sizes.

Im running 245/45/17 and i love them,my speedo is 3km/h off no biggie

245 45 17 make the wheelgap worse.

yeah but fat sidewall is weaksauce unless slick status.

ill take fat tire > more wheelgap.

what does weaksauce mean?

Agreed Odi. A bigger tire will fill in the wheel gap more and look a little better
