    245 is technically too big for the wheel, but a lot of people have fun that size including me. doing it again i would pass.

    by 'roll' of the tire i mean this: when you turn, the sidewall has to flex until it tightens up allowing the tread to catch traction allowing you to turn. with wider tires on a smaller wheel this roll is increased, esentially making the car handle worse than with the correct size tire.

    245/50/16 tires are also much more expensive than 225/60/16.

    245 is fine for the rim for normal driving. Ask yourself, "what is more important; cosmetics or going fast?". It can get real expensive when trying to do both at the same time. If you want to go fast get a stock size tire with a very high speed rating. Personally, I would get some high quality 17 or 18" rims with a set of Pirelli's. They'll look good and you can go fast. See?...expensive.

    alright i see what your saying about the 245....bad idea but why should i get 60 when 50 or 55 looks so much better wouldnt that help handling? less sidewall=less roll right? last question is 235 ok?

    you dont want to decrease sidewall height. you want it to be the same. when you decrease sidewall height you will essentially throw off your speedometer.

    keep the tires overall diameter within 3% of stock, regardless of what width you go for. but really, just get the stock size.

    Yea, but with smaller tires and the speedo being off he'll be able to rectify that 140 mph problem at a much slower speed.

    I couldn't resist.

    zeon RS3-a OR the zeon RS3-S (summer only)

    Rated #2 by consumer report and are amazing IMO

    I just bought them in 245-50-16 but I have 7" wheels

    3% speedo difference cant be much as this was a dealer option avail in 2003

    C = 2 pie r

    C = circumference
    r = radius
    pie = 3.1414
    2, well that = 2

    You do the calculation.

    there are tire size calculators littered all over the internet.

    nothing you are trying to calculate is anything new. i dont understand why you won't listen to me, though. upping the size of the tires is literally going to do nothing, but cost you more money. the car won't handle better at all. 245s might look cool, but that's about it.

    245's on stock rims is stupid. better off spending that extra dough on a tire that grips in stock size.

    I guess your looking for the low profile look, right? Unless you lower the car it might look kind of wierd. I can't remember, is the car lowered?

    It would look good if the car is lowered and the tires would be safe to run on the car. I'd say that's definately an option for you.

    Dude! You can't just start another thread with the same exact content. Moderators don't like that much. Your still getting the same people trying to help.
