Anyone here run rear GXP wheels on a standard GP? I have a 2008 Special Edition and I have the option to go with these rear GXP wheels and avoid the different sizes between the front and rear. Any advice?

gxp front wheels are 18x8...rears are 18x7.
wider wheels are better on front. or you could do the same size all the way around

Also looking at 225/50R18 tires. Currently running Special Edition 17" wheels. Don't care much for these wheels.

run the 18x8s all around the car. the 18x7s are too skinny for an 18" wheel.

many people have done it, youll have no problems.

I just bought a 2008 GXP and wanted to know what to buy to get the same size tires all the way around. This is my daily driver (give it hell every now and then) but I'm not looking to race, etc. What size tires would I use for 18X8 rims all the way around? Offset is 40MM for front and 55MM for rear, would I have to keep that the same?

I've spent over an hour searching the forum and this is the closest thing I've find to my issue so my apologies if I've done something incorrect.

    Thanks!

by the looks of it, rolling the fender will not solve anything. i will be making a thread tomorrow with pictures asking ideas on how to fix

please do. rolling your fenders in most cases will give you around another inch of clearance for the tires.

look for 245/45/18. it looks good, plus your speedometer wont be affected.

to run the same tire size around you dont need to do anything. you can run the same size all the way around with the current wheels.

however, to do it the 'right' way you should purchase another set of GXP wheels and reuse one set so your wheels are the same size all the way around. that way the tires all fit the same and you can rotate them all correctly. then you could also use the second set for snow tires in the winter.

Great - so to sum things up.......I can run an 18x8 wheel (stock or aftermarket w/ 5x115 bolt pattern) on the entire car and put a 255 tire all the way around as well so I can rotate properly? Should I want to switch in the winter, go to 18x7's all the way around with the skinnier stock rear wheel and tires?

    Thanks much!
