There is a thread about the proper way to tint your tails. You need to clean the lights with a degreaser or something to get a proper base. After that, sand the tails before you do anything. Wipe off any dust or grit from the sand paper. I believe I sanded mine with 1500 grit. Then spray your first coat. Sand in between coats and when you are done spraying the tint, spray your clear. When I did mine, I didn't sand the clear at all. I was very happy the way mine turned out.

Mine turned out great without any prep. I cleaned them first, but that's about it. I know ur supposed to scuff them up a bit before spraying, but I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, and I figured if I didn't like it and wanted to remove the paint, I wouldn't be left with scuffed up tails. If I run into adhesion problems down the road then ill scuff n shoot again. But for now they look great, so im leavin it alone. As far as brightness, they're a lil dark, but u can still easily see brake/running lights. You could always ease up on the spray, spraying them in almost a mist. It was my first time using this stuff so I wasn't sure what the results were gonna be. (I figured another tinting product that sucks, and ill just have to take it off anyways).

I'm pretty sure the ppl you are seeing have the stock polished 5 star designs that came on OUR model years. THESE wheels came off of the older style 96' grand prix. The rim is half an inch wider than our stock rims, and a diff offset wich pushes them out a bit, where as our stock rims are sucked in to wheel well. They do look pretty similiar, but trust me they're different.........unless everyone in your area are runnin polished pregens.?

Here's a pic of the tinted tails with just running lights on. Seems like they're bright enough to me!?

Oh yeah they're plenty bright! I didn't think they'd be even close to that. I might have to try this for sure.

CleanGTP, the lights look awesome and the brightness doesn't seem to be a factor! Congrats on doing a great job with the lights. Also, I agree with your comment about the pre-gen rims. There are some people that don't know of the differences between the 5-spoke rims that came on our body style versus those that came on the 94-96 body style - different styles.

You know back in the day when Chevy put the 427/435hp 4 speed in the vette? The reason the car didn't perform even better than it did was because it had bicycle tires. I've never heard of a bigger tire being worse for traction unless you're talking about driving in the snow

Maybe I'm missing some logic here but if skinny tires were better for traction they'd put 225's on the viper right?
the reason im saying this is because of the wheel size, not the tires. you completely missed how this statement makes 100% logical sense.

when the wheel size is too skinny and you put a bigger tire on it the tires end up cupping and you lose contact patch. so in case you think im retarded, do a little research first.

no need. 235/60 has a bigger diameter but isnt that much wider and 245/50 leaves a pretty big wheel gap.

Does anybody have the 235/60-16 and lowered? I would love to see some pics. Looks is the biggest thing and I want to compare the 245/50 with the 235/60 tires.
