Im asking because a friend of mine slid out and hit a curb in the snow this morning. If he slid and hit a cub, bent the rim, and it shakes about 60, does he need a new rim and get an alignment, does he just need a new rim?

I would say rim, balance and align.

If it's shaking, its not because of the alignment. It would be best to replace it or see if they can balance some of it out.

I don't see why not, my 18's have a slight bend in them. I've never had a problem with it.

Depending on how bad it is bent you might be able to balance it out. I would still get it aligned.

The same thing happen to me. except the shaking came from the belt in the tire
replace the tire went for a test drive and didn't need a alignment, all was good.

i bent my rim a couple of weeks ago, and went back to the shop i bought them at, and he said it was a machinist in town that could fix it. i took it to him and 4 days later it was fixed. I has 20in rim that was bent to wear air was leaking out. It good now, i think i need it balanced again tho, i can feel a very slight vibration in the car, or it might jus be the road, my thin tires make the smalles crack feel like a ditch, lol
    .
i said all that to show that they can be fixed, you'll have to search around your town.
