    Hi all,
Just lookin for input and opinions. I may not be anywhere near ready to get rims and tires on my GT but I like tobe prepared for when I am, so what do y'all think of these on a stock silvermist GP?

These are the Sport Edition SE14's a.k.a. knockoff Infiniti G37S Sport package rims.
    17x7.5
    Offset: +45mm
    Backspacing: 6.06"
    Bolt Pattern: 5-115
    Rec. Tire Size:225/55-17
    Weight: 22.4lbs.

I saw them on tirerack's website but the largest they offer for the GP is 17in although i've also seen 18's floating around. Why they don't offer them in the "Search by Vehicle" list is unknown to me but i'd live with 17's just as well as 18's. I saw a 2005(ish) Nissan Altima with the 19in Infiniti wheels around my fiance's college and fell in absolute love with it, only to find out that they're far too wide and they cost .. far more than I feel comfortable with. Especially for my daily driver. These however are exact replicas, except they fit and are WAAY more affordable. So im wonderin, do you think 17 is too small for this design or should I hunt a little for the 18's or would it look like crap either way?

P.S. I tried doing a little photoshop job with a silvermist GT and the above pic and was not encouraged... but I'm sure that has more to do with my lack of ability or patience. Being a little too much of a perfectionist and being impatient does not mix well when trying to do a photomanip

i think 17s are too small considering that the stock wheels are 16s. but youre right, those will fit easily.

+45mm offset would put it sucked in a little too far for my liking since its only a 7.5 wide rim, but would still sit about the same as the stock rims.

I just prefer a more flush look if I'm going to buy rims. Love the look, just food for thought on the backspacing

Thanks for the quick feedback everyone. I LUV this place. Now as far as the backspacing goes, is there some sort of easy tutorial on how to do the math for offsets? I indeed do want it flush to the body for that nice smooth, finished look but how does the offset correlate to the rim width? By that, I mean, is there some fundamental ratio I should know for getting stock depth?
And as far as 17 or 18 inchers go, do any of you guys have 17x7.5 or 18s on? Any pics available for offset comparison? I've only seen extreme circumstances of deep dishers or monster truck wannabes but nothing really in between that is detailed. Damn... I ask a lot of questions

The stock wheels on my GXP are 18's, as well as my other set.

So I don't know, maybe this will help just to get a visual idea.

    Pics of new wheels:

As I understand it Most of the stock GP rims in the 97-03 category range around the +30 - +40 offsets. The beloved "Pre-Gen" 5 spokers for the 95 & 96 GPs were most of a +25ish, not for certain but in the area. Gives alot more stance on a factory pontiac rim. Granted they are only 16s, and look stock, but the flush fit is perfect

Take a Look thru these to see what I'm referring to on them...
Several people also ran the Mustang 5 spokers (look like the Torque Thrust wheels) I think they are in the +30 area, but could be wrong, I do know they fit relatively flush too

go 18's. 17's w/ a tire on them look no bigger than 16's.

Thanks for all the help guys, I pretty much decided on getting the 18's. Im worried the 17's will be dwarfed by the sidewall but that has led to another problem. The 18's only come in 18x8 and as far as i have seen, our cars use 7.5's. Is this why some guys "roll their fenders"? Will I have to do that to get the 18's to fit or is just not gonna happen?

what are the rest of the specs (offset)? what tire are you running?

an 18x8 isnt bad so long as the offset is somewhere near +38mm or so.

Well, im currently running the stock torque stars, so tires are gonna have to be new along with the rims. The offset is +45 but the weird thing is that tirerack only offers me the 16 and 17inchers with 6.06" backspacing when i pop in my vehicle info. Redid the vehicle configurator for a 2009 Audi TT and the 18in showed up. The backspacing for the 18 said 6.29" but that was configured for the TT so.. is that backspcaing size the size on the wheel itself or what it should be with appropriate spacers for the car configured?
In case you couldnt tell, im really new to this

look for a 2006 mustang gt rims. youll find these w/ a 5x114.3 bolt pattern (fits our cars) 18x8 and offset +45.

also, check out sport edition f10. they look really nice, would def look good on a grand prix and comes in 5x114.3 18x8 +45

18x8's fit fine. u shouldnt run into issues as long as the offset is over 35.

Bolt pattern..damn. The bolt pattern on the 18inch se14's are 5x112 I assumed theyd be 5x115 like the 16 and 17's. You said mustang wheels and all the Billet threads i've read over the past few months flew into my head along with all the bolt pattern conspiracy theories. Made me recheck the specs and sure enough.. the bolt pattern is off. Checked out the f10's and thought they were really reminiscent of the Mazda 3's wheels, so that kinda turned me off from them. Saw a nice pair of those in 18's on a Fusion but it just didnt grab me. I did find some nice replacements though in the Elbrus I05 and the Avarus AV6. Something about the multispoke designs appeal to me and it looked surprisingly great in the configurator.

    Elbrus I05: $139 a piece

    Avarus AV6: $164 a piece
