So I ordered 4 wheels & tires from Tire Rack on Tuesday, and they were set to be delivered to my house this afternoon. I chose the option of FREE MOUNTING & BALANCING of the wheels, which I thought was pretty sweet that I wouldn't have to go to a shop and pay them to do it.

Well, I did get something delivered from UPS today, however, it was NOT what I was expecting. Rather than getting 4 wheels & tires MOUNTED already, I instead received 3, yes THREE tires, but no wheels. So at the moment I am short 1 tire, and 4 wheels. Is this common practice for Tire Rack or what? They gave me 4 UPS tracking numbers when I made my order, but so far, there has only been progress shown on 3 of them. The weird thing is, all 3 that were delivered today show a shipping weight of 55 pounds each, which is roughly what the wheel & tire would be together.

So my question is, where the heck are my wheels? And how are my tires going to be mounted now?

Call tire rack, explain product not as advertised, demand full refund including shipping and use a new site.

OR demand they pay to have the product shipped back to them, correctly installed then shipped back to you. Then never deal with them as they might hate you.

But in reality, they ****ed up, they should pay for it.

Yeah I'm definitely gonna be calling them tomorrow and letting them know what's up. I'm kinda pissed because I had them shipped to my parents house, which is 45 minutes away (I live in an apartment, kinda tough to have them delivered here), and I was planning on going there in a couple days to install them. But that is gonna be kinda difficult to do with only 3 tires, let alone 3 tires that are not mounted like they were supposed to be.

The problem is I don't have a pickup to bring the tires/wheels to a shop. I would have to make 3-4 trips to bring the tires and wheels to a shop in order to get them all there. It's just a pain in the ass. They should have been shipped to me MOUNTED like I ordered them. I'm starting to wonder if someone else got my order, and I got theirs?

IDK which car you have, but I know could fit 4 rims/tires between the trunk and rear seats easy in my 2000 coupe.

I have a 2002 coupe, but I have 2 12" subs in my trunk, so fitting tires in there is not an option.

I just realized I never updated this thread today.... I called Tire Rack yesterday, and long story short, it looks like someone in the warehouse put the wrong shipping label on my order, so someone else got my order, and I got theirs. Not good. So now UPS is gonna have to track down my order, go pick it up, and re-route it to me. What a pain in the ass. This kind of **** always happens to me. I have the worst luck in the world, I swear.

Better hope that person didn't damage your rims in any way (Scuffs scrathes etc)

Or worse, s/he could be driving on them now! Let's just hope for the best.

Yeah that would suck if they scratched them, or even worse, if they were driving on them! In that case, I'm assuming Tire Rack would charge them for the wheels & tires, as they would no longer be new, and therefore probably can't be returned.

Hopefully I get my wheels by Wednesday, I got a date, gotta be lookin good for the lady :P

Alright well this just keeps getting better. When I called my Dad on Friday to ask if my wheels/tires showed up, he told me that there was only 3 tires there, but no wheels. I was pissed and told him the tires were supposed to be mounted on the wheels already, to which he replied "I doubt it, nobody will send mounted tires through UPS". (My dad is stubborn).

Well today, Tire Rack called him to get the info off the side of the tires, to see who they belonged to, and sure enough, the 3 tires that were delivered WERE MINE, and they ARE mounted on the wheels (gee, thanks for checking that on FRIDAY DAD!!).

So now the new problem is determining what happened to the 4th tire & wheel. They contacted UPS, and it looks like UPS lost the package somewhere. So now my problem is no longer with Tire Rack, my problem is with UPS. This sucks.

Nope, they sure don't. I'm kinda getting mad about it now, because I have the day off from work on Wednesday, so I was gonna go to my parents house and install them, but that's gonna be kinda hard if there is only 3 of them there!

Haha, I used to do that in my Camaro! Everytime I got a flat tire I'd put firebird 16"s in the front & Vette 17's in the back. Talk about ugly.

Alright, yet another update on the situation. Now I'm starting to get pissed off. After calling them on Monday, and telling them that I did not receive ANY lug nuts (as they were part of the lost package), and that I would be needing ALL 20 lug nuts to be re-shipped out to me, I received a shipping confirmation from Tire Rack tonight. Guess what they are shipping me? 5 ****ING LUG NUTS. I am going to call them once again tomorrow, only this time I am going to voice my frustration.

I can understand that UPS losing the package was not their fault, however, when I called them to let them know what I was missing, they still didn't send out the right stuff. Now I'm just pissed.
