Alright I just got a set of torque stars for my car.... and I need new tires.
I'm pretty much set on either the Traction or Touring T/A's - any input?
Also anybody know any good websites for cheap prices? Thanks.

the touring t/a's are gonna be a bit more soft and mushy, wont handle turns quite as well, they're what the industry terms as a "broadline" tire... general use, not high perfomrance--typical s or t performance/speed rating. the traction t/a's will handle spirited driving/cornering better, how much depends on the performance/speed rating of the tire. the traction's come in t,h,v performance/speed rating t being the lowest, then h and v at the top. the higher the speed/performance rating, the stiffer the tire will be, helping to increase steering response, though at the expense of tire longevity.
...though i did notice that the touring t/a is no longer on bfg's site, its been discontinued, methinks.
Traction T/A H rated here. Bought them as winter started. I had good luck in the snow with them. As soon as all this crappy weather goes away, Ill try the spirited driving part.
I had the touring ta's and was happy with them for general driving, my traction ta's were better at the track, but wore out fast
Looks like the Touring T/A's HAVE been discontinued... looks like I'll be going for the Traction T/A's. I had them on my first camaro, but never got any snow use out of them.... do they handle pretty well?
Also, should I probably be safe with T, or should I go up to the H speed rating?
the T rating should be fine as far as speed goes, just if you want more steering response, the H will benefit there.... both due to tread compound differences, and sidewall construction, which ultimately let you run a higher PSI in the tires.
there might me a minimal ammount of tradeoff with the H in winter traction, because of the slightly firmer tread compound, but not sure if you'd notice much.
My car doesnt see snow, so I have Eagle F1 GSDSs. All about traction.
When I use to drive a car all 4 seasons I had 2 sets anyway. There is no perfect tire for all 4 seasons. There is give and take. I always bought the best summer tire and then the best winter tire on crappy rims for the winters.
As for price, you cant get the best tire for the cheapest price. Want the best tire then you'll pay for it too. I spare no expense on tires. Thats all you have touching the road. Good tires have saved me more than once from tragedy.
Everyone has opinions on this subject. Basically ask yourself what you want in a tire, how long you want it to last, how you drive, and then find a tire to match. I drive aggressive and love curves. I drive in dry road and occasionaly wet. So I bought the best rated tire for that. The more grip you get the less longevity you get. Touring tires are harder compounds and last/wear better. Dry Traction High Perf tires are softer and wear/last shorter.
The GSD3s are the best tire you can buy for performance. Car and driver rated them number one in a test. Check out this link.
Goodyear's Eagle F1 GS-D3 gets top ratings in Car and Driver's tests
Alright - well after looking over the reviews and surveys - I think that the Traction T/A T-rated tire would be good for me. They are fairly cheap, yet get great scores in dry and wet traction and overall good reviews by consumers.
Anybody have some Traction T/A's on their GPs?
I got Traction T/A V-Rated.... they've been good to me for all seasons. I've had 2 sets of these and i'll most likely buy another set when these wear out. I wouldn't race with them though, they go up in smoke just like any other tire i've had on this car (Michelins touring, Bridgestone Potenza RE730s), next time I go to the track i'll be on slicks...
I ended up going with the BFG Traction T/A's H Speed Rating.
I'm hoping I made the best choice for my kind of driving - the only worry I have is the road noise, but we'll see how it goes.
I'll give a review of the tires when I get them on my car and I drive them around for a few hundred miles. Thanks for everyones input.
Haha yea - I saw that. At first I wanted a T Rating, that's why I was curious if anyone had the T's and if there was a difference.
Thanks for you input tho, I ended up ordering the H Rating, and I'm sure i'll be happy with them. I'll throw up a review after I have them for a few hundred miles.
