Any comments or feedback on Mastercraft Tires? Looking for Cooper Tires as I've always had good luck with Coopers, but keep getting Mastercraft. I know Cooper makes them, but are the Mastercraft LSR Touring comparible to the CS4 Touring?

Sears sells tires? :S
Sears, how did they get into this?
Mastercraft is made by Cooper Tires.
Really now... Mastercraft is a sears brand for tools.
And apparently a boat company and a tire brand... interesting.
Well, this thread turned out to be useless, and I guess no one has used these tires before.
And yes, it's Craftsman Tools which is Sears, and Sears doesn't make tires.
if we are talking about canadian tire, they are not mastercraft but MOTOmaster brand and they do have tires. as for sears the local sears here does not have a auto shop so don't have tires. as for motomasters, I had two once, years ago and from what i recall they were fine. I did not have any issues with them.
OMG lol, Well anyway i have over 6 years workin in tire shops with all Certs involved so i'll help ya. Mastercrafts aren't bad at all, they do compare directly to the Coopers as they are made in the same plant with the same rubber, just less quality control basically. Treadlife isn't to bad, shoulders seem to wear fast no matter what there on though, there truck tires are freakin BADASS!! As far as car tires go they are totally worth the price. My fav is Yokohama and BFG though. Check out the Yokohama Avid TRZ or the Avid Touring S, the TRZ is 80k mile warr and handles awesome and priced right with Mastercraft. The Touring S is a 65k and more of a comfort touring tire but priced very well!
Moved to the CORRECT section.
Thanks Pittman, appreciate the feedback!
no problem, any wheel or tire questions if i don't know it i can figure it out for ya for future reference. 6 years of this crap has somewhat paid off lol, getting ready to go to the academy for Ohio State Highway Patrol hopefully in a few months and finally get out of the biz
I had the cooper cobra gt m/s on my trans am gta. they were the best tires I have had hands down!!. Excellent traction and ware. Im gonna try to get a set for my 2000 gt after turkey day. Do not get the Goodyear Triple Tread, The worst $600 I ever spent they Suck. Good luck..
there junk, try the Yokohama Avid TRZ, the best all around 80k tire imo
Well folks, I did end up going with the Mastercrafts after all. So far I think thye're awesome, I've already tried them in the rain too, nice traction and handling both dry and wet conditions, and the ride is unbelievable. Like night and day from the crap Michelin Energy's it came with I'll tell you that.
Pittman, I'm with you with BFG, I almost went with them, I have those on my Mach 1, what a set of tires.
I had Coopers on my 73 and 77 GP's always like Coopers, and also US made. So, that was probably the biggest reason I went with them, let's hope they live up to their heritage.
I thank you very much for your replies on this, I got a lot of good replies for Mastercrafts and Coopers on the Mach 1 page also, so between the feedback, it also helped my decision.
Have a great Turkey Day everyone!
