My car has 225/60/16's on it now, and I found a set of 235/55/17's pirelli tires for my 17's with less than 5,000 miles for $150. I know there wider, and was just wanting to make sure that they wouldn't rub.

should be fine. they are within 1% of the same overall diameter and 235 doesnt even begin to push the limits of how wide of tires we can run.

just as a heads up, I'm running 245/45/18 tires. I know there are those who have gone wider with tires. A lot of how it will fit is based on your rim... it's width and offset. If you are pretty much running a stock grand prix 17"x6.5" rim then there shouldn't be any problems at all with a 235.

235/55/17 will fit fine. that size is the same size used on all the 17'' rims on the w bodies, such as the comp G 17's impala SS 5 stars, and such and such
