It seems that both my rear tire valve stems broke. less then 1/4 of a inch down both are cracked through. I was told they are the Tire pressure systems and could run up to $70 bucks apeice. Anyone know a way to do this yourself with out taking the tires off?

lol, well thats true and there dealer only, the reason that happened is because someone put aftermarket metal caps on when there supposed to be plastic only, metal corrodes to the stem and when you use pliers to get them back off it brakes the stem down to the core base. Go to your local tire shop and ask them to put regular rubber stems in if you cant afford the sensors. You'll just have an annoying light on your dash

I had the same thing happen on my 07 Grand Prix. This is with the TPMS valves and they do cost $70. I tried to replace the valve myself by just breaking the bead loose, but that's not enough, the whole tire has to come off in order to get to the dang things.

Now I have another valve leaking air from the valve stem and the valve core isn't like a normal valve core - I can't remove it the a normal valve core tool. This looks like it should come out with a screw driver but that doesn't seem to be working either.

I guess Government Motors had a better idea with these things.
