so i raced my car friday ran a 14.83 at 94mph wasnt too bad just ****ty and i mean absolutely ****ty reaction time every run. i have to leave traction control on for launch which i would like to get rid of. what kind of tires do yall recomend for an all season performance/drag tire???? i just need to not spin on the line but also drive everyday all year round.

Well u know reaction time has nothing to do with ur 1/4 time. But, I didn't do too bad on traction. I just revved the botch to 2grand and stepped onto it

I've tried all sorts of tires over the years, honestly, there is NO good all season + drag tires that will work good on these cars. Nowadays I run my BFG Traction T/A V-rated tires for the street and when I go to the strip, I put on my Hoosier QTP slicks on and have some real run. I not only save on street tires, but I actully hook too...

my first run i tried w/ out t/c on and i spun till the 1/8th. traction has to do with my reaction time. i didn't say ne thing bout my 1/4 mile i just said what it was.

you have to learn to launch the car better. i could get my car to barely squeak the tires on fairly cheap all seasons while getting a good launch.

you cant just slam it to the floor. you have to feather the throttle or ease into it.

easing into it will work. thats how you have to drive these cars unless you put slicks on it.

but how is it possible to be consistent if i ease into it every time. thats almost impossible to ease into the exact same way every pass. Well drag radials should work if there are 400 plus hp cars runnin on em and not spinning.

you will spin drag radials too. you need SLICKS. consistency is based upon the driver mod. you need to practice.

    launching....

load the TC to about 2k via brake torquing....

when you decide to launch let off the brake....

at a moderate pace start to press the gas in and once you hear a chirp/squeel then you can mash it.....

you will learn your car and how fast you can move the gas pedal down and still hook....or like bio said buy slicks and be done with it....but if you practice your launches you will perfect them....i still havent perfected mine it takes practice....

You should try this attitude of yours on less friendly forums, like ClubGP...you will come back here crying "thank you" and begging for more help. These guys have been more than patient trying to help you, but you are not listening. If you think you know better, you tell us the answer to your question.

i told you everything you need to know. this is a roots blown FWD car. you cannot just lay into the pedal and expect the tires not to spin regardless of your wheel and tire setup. you need to practice your launches in order to get them to be good.
