I was just wondering if anyone could explain to me wat a hubcentric ring is used for? I would really apprieciate it. And also if you could explain the senario in which you would have to use them

it is used to center the hub of the wheel on the studs. most of the time you dont need them.

you would more than likely use them in a situation where you have a slightly different bolt pattern on the car versus the wheel and need to make sure it stays centered correctly.

^ partially true - they are used for correcting an issue with the center, or "hub" hole, on the rim being different than the vehicle's hub. Rim manufacturers tend to make the hub diameter "universal" - or large enough to accomodate most cars in the application, and the hub ring (hubcentric ring) fills this gap to eliminate any hub/lug vibrations.

That's a matter of opinion - but 99.9% of all cars made today are hub centric.
They both are just different ways that the rim is centered on the vehicle's hub.
I prefer hub centric - because the lug tightening requirements aren't so stringent. With lug centric rims - you have to torque them off the ground.

But as someone stated earlier - most won't require hub rings when you buy aftermarket rims. I know in the GTO community - that isn't always the case...but we have some bastard offsets and other stuff to consider.
