I will recommend you stay away from the 18's if you wish to maintain a sense of performance. The 18's add a bit of rotational weight to push around and will result in a ding in your performance.

I met a GP owner with the same modely year as me that lived a few miles north of my place and was a regular person at the Friday night drags. At the time he had 18's on and said it cost him right at a half a second in the quarter mile over his 16's.

If you want 18's thats all well and good and I wont try to persuade you from that, but I know from our discussions you also want to keep some performance and I would be under the impression 18's might be more of a ding in that regard than you want.

However, Im no expert here so others may jump in and say otherwise, so give credit to what they may have to say as well.

Yep, best to stay 9" wide or less in most cases. They have 17 x 9 and 18 x 9 on that site (chrome though). Weight is only relative to each individual wheel/company. Obviously the chrome wheel of two identical wheels of the same brand is gonna be heavier, but you can have chrome wheels that are still lighter than others. You can also always go polished, but more maintenance. You can also find other companies and good deals through ebay.

Also, I'll disagree with 18s hurting your performance. This only applies if your 18" wheels/tires are heavier than your original setup. Not to mention most likely your handling performance will be improved quite up bit when upsizing to 18s. I've had 18s with wider tires that were lighter than my 16s with tires were. Better traction, better handling, better appearance, and they were lighter (also had ones equal or close to the same) improving mass and very little reduction in ride quality. I prefer it over stock ride. Of course, I have also switched to aftermarket 16s and 17s to further reduce weight at the dragstrip.

it really depends what youre looking for. do you want 18s or 19s for looks? or do you have 17s so you can keep your car fast? do you like black rims? do you like chrome rims?

    we need more information here.

It doesnt really matter man. The 17" bulllits are heavy as hell too..

Just have to deal with it. Its not going to feel like a civic when you put the wheels on.

    how about:

    these

maybe a good style for you?

    these are pretty sweet

either way if youre only getting 17s, i wouldnt worry about the chrome weighing you down. they are just that more expensive still. a lot of the rims that are chrome can also be found in polished.
