Got an 06 gt with the 17's that come stock with 225/55/17..i wanna get something a lil wider that are more performance driven..how wide could i go on stock wheels without them looking retarded or worsening the performance of the tire? Discounttire.com says the biggest i could go is 255/45/17....would this look or handle bad? Please help need tires soon!!!

the widest you can go on the stock wheels is 245/50/16. i ran them and never had any problems. they also lower the car a little bit because of the lower profile tires.

depends on how wide the rim is. is youre 7" wide youre pushing the 255 barrier...
