    just wondering if powder coating rims is a good thing to do....

    if so does anybody know where i can get my hands on some powder coatable rims for a decent price. i got the steel rims n i cant stand em. i need a cure for the common lameness.

    I'd imagine a normal body shop would only charge you 100-200 for regular car paint.

    powdercoating will look better than paint, but if you dont take care of it then it will chip, which paint wont.

    it's a toss up.

    powder coating is going to hold up much better, and as long as you get your wheels media blasted down to bare metal you will be fine with just about any wheel. I'm personally going with powder coating because there have been a few guys from Idaho that have painted ones that have had problems with chipping, especially when tires are mounted/dismounted.

    thanks guys. i appreciate it. my buddy said he would powder coat them for 50 bucks. so it opens up a whole new avenue buying rims....cuz i want black ones but cant find any that i like. so ill probably just end up getting brushed ones or something n have it done...so if you have 18's for a decent price lemme know.

    ya i hope these are not winter wheels, or you will be painting them each season. Good luck with the paint, your be better off having them PC'd by your Buddy
