    Anyone have experience regarding whether or not I'll run into issues having 5x114.3 rims installed on a Regal? The only reason I ask besides the obvious, of having an outside resource assist, is that the 18/245/45 tires are on the existing set of rims I will be replacing.

    .7 of a mm means nothing, there is no issue bolting them up.

    I am asking in regards to whether or not they will not install due to out of spec lug pattern. I know people have their opinion on the 5x114.3 / 5x115 debate, I am asking in regards to the actual install because of my current tires noted in the post being on one set of rims, and swapping them to the 5x114.3 rims to install on the car. I have heard that some shops wont install due to liability and without posting elsewhere, don't have a resource to swap tires onto rims.

    I dont know of any shop that will measure your bolt hole circle before install. I will go out on a limb and assume your not a incompetent and are bringing bare wheels in, getting rubber mounted and having the shop mount those. Shouldnt be a problem at all.

    Yes, if you need me to break it down to layman's terms - Purchase set of 5x114.3 rims, bring said rims to a satisfied chain store I've had experience with, ask store to then unmount existing rims, swap tires onto newly purchased 5x114.3 rims and mount to the car.

    it doesn't matter anyways...being low profile 18" stuff they will probably end up tearing the bead on your old tires removing them from the rims and you will forever have air leaks on your new rims with the old tires

    I've never heard that before, ever. Like Hurtz said; What are they.. going around actually measuring?

    Walk in with cash in hand, if they won't do it, walk out the door. I'd actually tell them that I'd be leaving with my money to go to the next damn place.

    Do they want the sale or not? (salesmen hate that phrase)

    I don't see what the issue is here.

    ive heard some shops wont mount your new wheels if they somehow know they are not the same pattern.

    i say, dont say crap about nothing and get the tires swapped around.

    Costco up here has been known for that. Heard a story where buddy wanted to go from a 32" tire to a 33" tire, and they refused to do the job.

    As mentioned, don't say anything. The shop will install the wheel/tire and be none the wiser.

    Got it, I figured I'd go that route if needed.

    AFAIK, it is recommended to just go with hub centric rings just to be safe, correct? From what I see, the stock 70.1 vs 73.1 bore size can be gone about either with or without.

    I am lowered on SSC's and plan on upgrading to an 18x8 5x114.3 +35 offset if I happen to be missing any other considerations, tires are 18/245/45 as noted.

    your gp hub is 70.3. if the new wheels have a larger hub yes you need centric rings or they will not roll smoothly, kind like they are out of balance really bad with out them.

    if the new wheel is a smaller hub then 70.3 find new wheels cause they are not going to work at all.

    Got it, I assume the Regal hubs are also 70.3, sorry for the error on 70.1. The hubs on the new wheels are 73.1 so I will add the hub centric rings also, thanks Scotty.

    all fwd gm cars seem to have that same hub size. the rings are cheap, like 10 a set.
