The car is a 2000 Coupe. It has the factory crosslace wheels on it. It has the factory size 225/60/16 on it right now but I'd like to go wider. Maybe a 245. Only problem is, the only 245's I'm seeing are a 245/50/16 and I've noticed most people on here don't recommend going under a 55. So whats a popular tire size people run on these cars when they wanna replace the puny 225's? Looking for an all season tire BTW. I know winter is approaching but down here in Alabama winter driving is not a problem.

You could only run a 245/50/16, nothing else would really fit.

225's aren't even "small", tread compound is the key if you are looking for a performance and grip along with ride quality.

So pick your posion with whatever 245/50 size you can find.

The height is determined by a mathematical equation based on the width. If you want 245 width and have 16s you want 245/55/16. They are 26.7" tall which is the same height as stock 225/60/16. 245/50/16 only come in at 25.7" tall.

That's the size I've been looking for. I havent been able to find any that size. If you know of a brand that makes that size let em know.

Good luck is all I say.

Thats why you have to go with 245/50's.

I refuse to recommend tires that are an inch shorter than stock.

If he wants it to be wide, it'll have to be.

    It's only 2.4 mph difference at 65mph.

with the car lowered it doesn't look bad, but i'd agree. at stock ride height it looks horrendous.

You should just upgrade and get some 17" or 18" wheels. Fairly easy to find a set cheap. I went with 17" wheels and just put on some new rubber. 245/50/17 Going to put my lowering springs in once the weather warms up.
