I might be inclined to believe that, but when the trans shifts it should drop as quickly as the RPM's drop when shifting, it just seems like there is a lot of buffering going on. I remember on some gauges in older cars that we would reduce the capacitance value and the tach would react quicker. On this one I am not sure if that would be a viable solution or if it is just buffered by the BCM or PCM's output whichever controls it.

Nope, I understand what you are saying, but when the engine shifts between gears and I can hear the engine RPM drop the tach is still moving down then settles at the RPM it should be. Remember that my exhaust is very loud so I know when the rpm drops. It also flares when I let off the gas, but it barley shows on the tach. There is defiantly some filtering in the tach.

Time for a vid, Jeff.
Lol, here we go again. Alright I'll make one on the way home.
Jeff
After watching it all the way home I'm now thinking that the trans just shifts that slow.
Jeff
Well hopefully when I get a shift kit it can help that some. My PA doesn't bang into gear, but the shift is solid and crisp, the GP is slow and sluggish. If there is lag in the way the tach responds I can't tell because of the trans. I'm sure they transmissions are too far apart to use any of the parts between them.

tranny guts are all the same, but the chains and gears and the hd diff are the only changes from one to the other. bill just took the guts from a h body trans and put them in a w body case. the outside of the case is different h to w body.
shift kit and a tranny tune helps a lot.
No I haven't on either car actually PA is 176K GP is 141K. I planned on doing that when I did the shift kit. Which should be in the next couple of weeks.

Shift kit ftw. I had reptile do me a tranny tune, but I recently put it back to stock for now (trying to cure this tcc kr issue) and I'm fine without the tune.
I need a way to tune, but can't see shelling out the money until I have headers and exhaust, P&P heads, LIM, SC and an IC. I think in the meantime I will get someone to tune it for a few tweaks here and there. But the shift kit is pretty high on the list, and it's looking like a radiator is in order. 5/8" thin core what was someone thinking?
