Decided I should change my plugs today, and it preceded to pour for the next 3 or 4 hours. Go out to get the plugs out, and they're frozen tight and I'm slipping around in the mud trying to get them out. Haven't even attempted any of the back ones yet, they can stay for a couple of days. Eff you, nature.

    HA! Good Times!

Twist as you pull the wires if they're a pita. If you can't get em just cut em and get new wires. Just muscle up for the plugs. Good luck.

Going with coppers (Autolite 605s), so maybe it'll make it easier in the future since they need to be changed so often. Already did new wires (the metal clip stuck to 3 of the plugs when pulling the old wires), so these should be a breeze to pull. Those freakin' clips deserve a rant of their own! Lol

Man if you have a moving blanket or an old mattress just lay it over the engine (engine cover off) and you can just hop over the engine. I bought about 9 of the large moving blankets and use them a lot. Makes getting to the rears much more comfortable. Just be careful moving around.

and screw you weather. If it doesn't let up soon all of Houston will be under water.

Hahhahhah! Gotta love it. I take it you have a "dogfish"?

I still don't see why people have such a hard time changing plugs/wires on these motors. Never needed blankets to change em. Guess being tall paid off, lol... Grip it and rip it. I'd rather change these plugs than the ones I had to do on my 95 LT1 Firebird. Talk about a PITA...

I think the worst ones I've dealt with were in an 01 Windstar minivan, these are only bad cuz they're so damn old haha. And headers really make that much of a difference?

Did my Sienna recently. Pretty much have to take everything off the top of the engine to get the rears. Tilted v6 engines in a van with a windshield a mile long=say goodbye to rear bank.

Just be glad you don't have a Thunderbird Supercoupe. Where you have intercooler tubes running down the drivers side of the engine compartment, along with the Hydraulic control unit for the brakes and ABS on the same side.
