I have to rant about replaceing the tranny filter in my dads 02 tahoe, the way GM designed it is stupid. You have to drop the exhaust, and take the shifter bracket off to get the damn pan off, and its been a Pain in the ass all day, because of iowa and its rust problem, im scared im going to snap the exhaust studs! Just had to rant about GM and its stupid designs!

my brothers 4x4 yuk is the same. we took the shiftier cable bracket off and wedged the pan off. definitely sucked. at least the pan had a drain plug.

I got my 2000 suburban pan off with a little help to the shift bracket with a cats paw and bent it back and was able to wiggle it around the exhaust. Still a pain, and drain plug is nice.

Oh if GM only made things simple they would have no need to hire mechanics to work on their own cars.

I have an 00 Silverado. I pulled the shifter bracket and drained where it hung. Then mopped the remainder out and changed the filter. Dumb design for sure.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
