So im looking at the GTP to try and get it ready for state inspection so i can start driving it.
It has a projector "halo" headlight kit. The high beams dont work so i start testing them to figure out why, when i realize the running lights arent wired up. The last owner removed the ballast for both highbeams and CUT the wires for the halos/running lights. I dont understand... its $10 for an HID ballast on ebay, Hell a SET of OEM headlights with BULBS is 35. why did he have to hack appart the wiring harness?
Why some people let there cars go to **** i dont understand. OH let me just put a bandaide on this and worry about it later.

For most people, all cars are just disposable junk to use up and throw away.

Thats what they make versas, yaris, and other cheap as cars for. Why ruin a NICE car?
i can understand if its past your level of expertise to repair, or if its really expensive but, when its just being lazy or stupid it really bugs me.

A GTP is definitely not a nice car for 99% of the world, myself included. 3800 chariots are extremely cheap cars now. Maybe they weren't new, but still.

This doesn't mean they're BAD cars, just means that normal non-car people are even more inclined to just drive it till it dies. With as little effort to keep it moving about as they can possibly get away with.

because it's easier to hack it together (and usually cheaper) than doing it the right way?

My second car I ever owned the entire harness for the radio was gone, they cut it out all the way into the main harness behind the dash, I had to completely rewire everything. But I agree for the most part it is laziness.

I worked at a dealer years ago, and they sent a brand new S-series Benz to best buy to have some add-ons installed. They hacked into the big fiber optic cable thinking it was a place to tap 12 volts from. Now thats one expensive hack.

What could you possibly add to a brand new Benz that it didn't already have?
