Does anyone have those friends that elevate there car brand to a holy status, and see all others as inferior?

I have a couple and it drives me nuts!! Im a GM performance guy, i love the sound of a V8 rumble, the cheap mods that build lots of power , and the availability of parts.
but i recognize that GM has dropped in quality ALOT in the last decade, I probably wouldnt buy anything other than a performance car, and i recognize, (even though i hate them) that the mustang is a properly fast and quick car, and that other companies make some damn good cars, even a few i want (G37, GTR, S4, M3 M5, 535i, TL, etc)
But then there are people, that dont see reason, ignore facts, and logic. one of my friends is really bad, whatever car he currently owns is a god. Started with his prius. Prius thism, prius that.... etc, then it was he MR2, MR2 this Mr2 is just better, he turbo'd it raced my monte l67 got wooped, "i shifted wrong, its not running right, etc etc" no matter what there's always an excuse to why his car didnt perform till he got his next car: a mazdaspeed6 new these cars run high 13 low 14 quarters and 0-60 in 5.x ... well his car isnt new, lots of hard miles, its nice dont get me wrong i would drive one, but, in the course of a year since buying it.... hes replaced the variable valve solenoid, two o2 sensors, replaced his transfercase seals, has rust all under it , (it had 95k when he bought it), i got a ford fusion (06) with the mazda 2.3, last december, 97k since i boght it: 2 axkes, 2 motor mounts, intake manifold, and now a new engine and cluch (piston slap and rod nock. He still VEHEMENTLY argues that its not mazda having poor quality control, that its me being TOO PICKY, that it really isnt that much for a car with milage, that " well the variable timing was a recall, and 02 sensors are known failure, and someone must have driven it poorly" , but heres the thing, my monte when i bought it had the 3.4 the engine that throws rods like the yankees throw baseballs. got it at 150k original engine original tranny, 3k needed a wheel bearing and thats it, drove that motor till 175 when i swapped it for the l67, no issues, and the previous owner dogged it (found the oil congealed inside the valve covers when i pulled one off" I dogged that car, and it held up.
then even better is my KIA, bought at 132k now has 160k have all the service records nothings ever been replaced, except the ball joint i did last week,
IF A KIA CAN MAKE 160K with relatively few problems, its not unfair to expect that out of a japanese designed car!!

one of the biggest mazda people he knew has a mazdaspeed three built up, told my friend, my turbo manifold has warped three times on this car and the turbos only last 10k , im gonna go back to stock and build a chevrolet camaro ls1 thats where the real power is hell of a lot cheaper to build, so then what does my friend do, no he doesnt think hmm, these parts seem to be unreliable and bad for the car, he FREAKING BUYS them, smh

finally, hes talking to me about my buying my brothers (running) GTP for 800$ saying its not a good deal because it needs some work, and that if i make it fast its still only a fwd pontiac.
oh and last piece, he says audi drivers are dumb because they use can tunes for there car (ridiculously cheap to gain 100hp) but what does he have a tuner that basically just throws can tunes on cars, it does allow customization but he hasnt used it

i know its a rant and i supposed it kind of turned into fanatacism AND Hippocratic BS, but i cant be the only one who knows people like that.... I mean "CIVIC"
