I lived in central NJ all my life, and have been driving for like 10 years, and I never remember the roads being in such crappy condition as this year. They are absolutely ****ed up. I hit a pothole this morning (it was still dark out so i didnt see it until it was too late) and I swear I can still feel it tonite. Went back in daylight to see how bad it was, and they had already filled it up! I cant believe it!! Luckily there doesnt seem to be any problems w/ my car. Anyway, it seems like all the roads around are like obstacle courses, and on some the whole road is f'd up so theres no way to avoid it. And this is only the beginning of Jan. Imagine what theyll be like at the end of the winter???? Good luck to any of you who have to drive in this area on a daily basis. The repair bills are sure to be $$$$$$.

****, I drove out to rockford on tuesday and even the semi's were dodging potholes, some 10' long and atleast 4" deep. If only the DOT's would realize that quality concrete lasts alot longer then asphalt could hope.

here in chicago they filled in some of the worst spot, but there are still lot of streets that still need to get fill in too. we had more snow few days ago and it's suppose to be freezing cold this week. i think it's just going to get worst.

WI has some sh*tty roads no doubt! what i find funny, is they just patch the sh*t in the spring. which makes a huge lump in the road! YEAH, that really makes the road better/or fixed the problem!

yeah NJ is really getting bad lately. they fill in the potholes one day and a week later they are even worse. Their quick patches just dont do the job.
ive damaged many wheels falling into some massive craters at night.

HaHa... or the BQE... I remember back in the days.. (Clinton times) when the BQE was this bad... but seriously... even Queens is like this too now. And G-d FORBID if it rained hard the night before, and filled up the pothole... so you miss it (looks like a road continuation) and PLUNK.. or it freezes over completely... n Black Ice... at least yall HAVE asphault.. we got that crappy "Tar" stuff that barely even lasts a year.... Smooth like a shaved virgin when layed... bumpy as a $20. whore after 6 months... and when the "Rigs" get to it... ha! its over... try Hillside Ave and Francis Lewis Blvd... or Guy R Brewer Blvd to JFK... or just try JFK, you'll see what im talkin about...

Try gravel roads... With 3-4 ft. snow drifts, then it melts, then it is pure mud, then the potholes really show up. Or when some people pay to spray used oil in front of their houses so they don't get too dusty. Sometimes your going 45mph and all of a sudden u hit a house that just applied oil, gets all over your car, and the rocks start flying cause the oil makes them stick to your tires.

THEN you finally get into town to face more potholes... Fun Stuff.

Nearly every state maintained road in illinois is like driving on the moon right now. Its terrible. Oh DOT's will pay for broken parts/tires, it just takes a while.

Indiana is bad as well. I've lost 2 rims and 1 brand new Goodyear Eagle GT this winter.
