So let the long rant begin!
I had recently moved in with my grandparents who live in buttf*** no where and can't get Cable or DSL only Satellite internet service which kinda blows because I can't game on it but whatever. Found Hughes Net for the price it seemed like a steal compared to other services like Exede, Frontier. Called them up and was told 10GB a month with up to 5Mbps speed which I was okay with asked other questions and such and was also told about a 30day trail period before the 2 year contract starts and if I canceled i would walk away without paying anything awesome right? They had a tech out the next day to install it. Literally the first 3mins of using it I told myself i was switching, I got a solid 1mbps download speed or slower even in off peak hours, and only got 5GB of data a month....but I was told 10 right? It was but I get 5GB between 2am and 7am and another 5 for the rest of the day, NEVER during the phone call was I told this and I specifically I asked the guy about it on the phone. Okay at this point I was quite ticked off, so the next day I had the service cancelled and they tried everything to get me to stay. Match the speed of the company I was switching to, bumping the data to the next teir for current price ect. Had another company out the next day to Install Exede and take down the other dish everything was fine untill my grandma got her credit card bill (the new service is on my card now) and they pro charged her for the month so Apr 8 - May 8 for 56.31 i was told by the guy on the phone when cancelling it wouldn't cost anything. What he forgot to mention was I had two different cancel options. Standard which pro charges you for the month then it stops after the month and they send you a box for the TRIA, Modem and misc cables so you can send it back or the Immediate cancellation which stops the service the same day and you wont be pro charged for the month and a box is sent out immediately. I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT THIS, so they had lied to me on two different occasions which ended up me getting screwed twice. So I called them on the phone, got your typical Indian CS rep with a heavy accent that you can't understand (No racism intended). After 40min of explaining all the crap about how I was promised no charge and just trying to understand her, I get transferred to her supervisor, FINALLY SOMEONE WHO CAN DO SOMETHING.......WRONG they hung up on me after 10min of being on hold. Call back same deal with an Indian woman, heavy accent ect. I instantly ask for a supervisor after 20min of being on hold I get to talk to a supervisor HOLY S*** Explain the problem, they keep saying because its a valid charge blah blah blah and that I did the standard cancellation WHICH I WAS NEVER TOLD OF THE OPTIONS that I'm SOL. I told them listen to me, I had the service cancelled the next day and the damn dish was taken down, check the account and you will so NO ACTIVITY and I was never told about the other options. So she said that she can't and I have to be transferred to the "Advanced Billing Deparment" another 20min on hold they again tell me the same crap about the standard cancellation, told them again to check I never touched it so its not like i was trying to rip them off THEN THEY realize I didn't touch the service and I got my 56.31 back for my grandma. Sent the TRIA, Modem back today and got a receipt so if the idiots try to charge me for 300 I'm gonna blow a gasket and probably kill someone (kidding). So now I'm happy with Exede with TRUE 10GB a month and a LNFZ (Late Night Free Zone) between midnight and 5am which lets me download as much as I want and because nobody is using internet at that time I have seen speed up to 2.5MB/s or 20Mbps and even 10mbps and higher during peak hours and its rated for 12mbps with 5mbps up. All for 50 bucks a month.
