I hate that, especially since I park in a college parking lot where 1/4 of the cars are beaters.
Perfect example, I was at least 5 spots away from any cars when I got there, and when I come out there's a somewhat junky malibu right next to my car, there were never any cars close to mine.
I used to park right beside people when i was in high school as a joke. Usually get right up next to the drivers door of a teachers car. or get together with one of myu buddy's to do it to some poor sap in a sunfire.
I definitely hate when people do that, its almost like they think your car will protect or add class to theirs.....not saying the prixs are a thing of class or anything like that, but you catch my drift,I usually go back into wherever I was at and buy the most feminine item I can find and leave it under their wiper.
Yup I hate this but majority of the time when I have this happen to me it's a guy that thinks similar to how I think and usually has a classic old school or something worthwhile like a vette etc and I don't mind them parking by me in this case.
Had these two dumb high school girls in dads merc parked literally 5 inches off my mirror. They were sitting in the car so I opened the door gently but noticeably hit my door against theirs. Squeezed in the car closed the door. They started yelling and I told him next time don't park like a idiot and drove off.

Having a coupe certainly exacerbates the situation. I remember coming out from lunch at a BBQ joint in Dallas to see some old fogey sedan right up on the driver's door of my fresh painted Ventura. I got in carefully but before I pulled my head into the car, I hocked up a giant corn loogie on the windshield.
I slapped my door into an audi the other day. Person was in it and yes.. on purpose.
Park in a non spot where I specifically was because I'd be carrying a pizza etc. BANG! take that new audi.. lol!
Thats the spirit bill!

I feel the same way about this.
The other day at work the only open spot was next to a Hummer. Guy parked so close to the yellow line the buldge of the tire was over it. I looked at the side of my car to get a good mental image of what it looked like incase he hit it I would know. As i walked away all I could think was "I hope this guy isn't a fat ass".
My drivers side door has 3 fresh new dings...from the same car, I'm guessing. All in one line up my door. Molding, above and below the molding. I was parked away from most cars due to high winds, and apparently someone in a green car decided to park next to me, and they lost control of their door in the wind, and it slammed into mine. 3 paint smears, 2 dents...I was pretty pissed...
I have a magnet that states "Nice park job you f***ing f**k." that I've been waiting for a while to use.
I didn't know gpf would auto censor, cool.
Saw one on FB this morning. Someone had sidewalk chalk in the car and when a person parked poorly.. they took a moment ... hilarious Pretty sure the person got the message about their parking.
This happens every single time, but it's usually a beat up, dog-eared truck. Why people? WHY?????
If I see a car parked away from everyone else (as I do), my first thought ISN'T, "Ooh, there's a nice parking spot", and get as close as possible.
My once dent free GP now has a couple of dents from doors, a shopping cart, a wing mirror and handlebars from a bike!!! And I'm sure some nice people have used my roof as a rest for their bags when getting into cars, as there are a couple of long scratches on top, which weren't there originally!
In parking lots with shopping cart the back of the lot isn't the ideal spot. Carts turn into rockets in the wind.
