Only if you park on top of my car and I can't get in it w/o sucking in my fat gut. If you park like a normal person..I'll always respect your car.

So, washed and waxed the Grand Prix. Had it parked perfectly, nose out strait and dead center in one of the nice oversized parking spaces where I live away from everyone else's POS cars, only to come out the next morning to find that someone smoked my front bumper!!! Estimate at the body shop: $475, insurance deductible: $1,000, money out of my pocket: $475, finding who did this: priceless.

While sitting in my car waiting for a store to open (Costco) some guy in a pick up truck backs into my car. I get out of my car right away and yell Hello and procede to the drivers door and tell the owner to move forward and he did. I go back to look at the damage, only a smudge, nothing serious thankfuly. It was the trailer hitch receiver that bumped my car just below the Pontiac emblem. By now I'm waiting for the other driver to come back and see what they did but it never happened. Once they did get out to go to the store I laid on my horn a good few times but no reaction from him. Now I go into the store and follow this guy down one of the isles and purposly let my shopping cart smash into his and clearly apoligize for my action. He now knows what he did outside and offers no apology of his own.

This is why you don't have a stupid high deductible. I keep a 250 deductible and am considering making it even lower.

I think my mom has like a 1k deductible for some reason. Anything over 250 would suck imo.

Probably because she thinks she is saving a lot of money. Fact is you really don't save that much per month and you REALLY pay for it when a claim is filed.

claims also raise your ins so that blows when someone hits and runs your car. Happened to my 97 but I was smart and got a fender at the boneyard for 30

I think insurance agents really push higher deductibles claiming you save so much money each month or crap like that. I'm actually gonna bring it up to her to see how much of a difference it is if she dropped to 250. Shes already tight on money buy if you screw your car up where are you gonna pull a grand from. I just like to look after my mom and always worry about her which is weird because you would think it should be the other way around lol.

Not all claims raise your insurance. When I hit the deer last year with the GP my insurance remained unchanged. In fact it went down at the next renewal period.

It can still go down but not as much if you did make a claim
