As an engineer myself in the automotive industry I seriously don't understand the thought process behind this. I am just baffled by lack of common sense in most engineers. I mean come on man this is just stupid.

Dude, that's 90's/00's GM. As a former/Don'twannadoitanymore tech, I've seen all the amazing things GM has done and the ungodliest amount of stupid **** they've done too.

Unfortunately looking at the wiring the signal is processed through the pcm and is pretty much going to be an insane pain in the ass to get around so i guess its new hubs. I hate doing hubs.

Your so right about the 90/00 GM they did some really stupid crap lol.

Hubs aren't that bad but then again the majority of them I did on a lift. I always wire brush inside the knuckles and mating surfaces before I put the new hub in. Wire brushing the bolts helps too. I've seen some people use anti-seize on the mating surfaces of the hub and knuckles too but that's overkill IMO.

I think you have other problems or something, when my other hub went bad and this morning with the ABS light on I never lost my cruise. Hubs are EASY

Make sure the switch just didn't go bad, I don't think are related.

It may not disable the CC on 97-03 models, but I can confirm it does on the 04-08 model years. My 05's cruise control would work sometimes and then not just before my rear right bearing went out, and once it got loud enough it stopped working completely until I replaced it.

It's a horrible design, the CC should just go off the vehicle speed sensor, not the individual wheels, but it's probably something safety related.

From what I have found, it looks like if one of them go bad then you retain cruise control but if two go bad you lose it.

I've never heard of that problem. BUT

If you do need 2 hubs (just throwing this out there)

You didnt mention *unless i over looked it* what hubs you may be replacing. If it's for the rear, lmk. I have 2 practically brand new Moog Rear wheel hubs I've been trying to get rid of. Their out of my old 01 GT. I replaced them to shut the lights on my dash off, and they dont even have 50 miles on them, and i took em out. If you might be interested, lmk, we can work out a deal on em.

Never lost cruise on my 07. My ABS doesn't like having one (or two) smaller diameter tires on the back and will disable ABS/TCS at 55 mph, but cruise still works.

It may just be the type of failure. If it's occasionally missing pulses it may think that the wheel is slipping. One good reason to have it is when your cruise is set in the rain and you start to hydroplane, the cruise will kick off. That would be a good thing to happen. If it's a constant failure (shorted/open)an ABS code will be set, your traction control and ABS will be disabled but the cruise will still function. You might try just unplugging the suspect hub and see if the cruise control will work then. You'll have an ABS light on but everything else should work. It did on my 2003 Monte Carlo. I drive about 100,000 miles a year and have been through a few hubs. Don't go for the cheapest. Look for Moog, Federal or Timken. They'll be a few bucks more but will make up for it in longevity. The cheapy E-Bay hubs lasted me 35,000 miles and the Moog last well over 100,000. I do drive like a maniac through the mountains of West Virginia and that's a pretty good torture test. Good Luck
