Okay so here is the scoop, I have a write up on how to add an aftermarket cd player on you amplified/onstar system on here.
And when someone from here tryed to help another person on the other gp forum that shall remain unnamed with a problem w/ my write up, the guy that thinks he owns the audio section implied he was an idiot, and I guess in a way me, since I wrote it. He also implied that the other peeps (like 3 or 4) that tryed helping was idiots too, and tryed telling him to just go to wal-mart and get this certain 8 dollar harness and it would fix everything. Ironic thing is now the guy posted saying that didn't help either.

I guess I am ticked off because 1) he thinks he knows everything, and that just irps me, 2) he implied that everyone was idiots, 3)answered in a smart-elic way guarenteeing something would work and it didn't, which this particular person has a habit of this.

I just like being humble, I guess. You don't see Dave being a d***head to people asking/helping w/ tranny q's and he could because as far as I am concerned he is the king of tranny's. Back on point though, even if you are an expert with infinite years of knowledge doesn't mean it is okay to treat people like crap.

Wow did this rant even make sense? haha, It doesn't matter anyway I guess.

Oh and by the way, Thanks to the member that used my write up to try and help, it made me feel pretty good.

    Rant over

First things first...........He posted in the "other site." Problem #1. Obviously proven time and time again there are many "TOOLS" on the "other site." Problem #2

At least you had the forthought* to try and help someone and not bash them. Take comfort in that. And secondly, they are not worth the energy or penmenship to even bother replying back to them.

You were right. They were wrong!

We would much rather have your input HERE than over "there."

Just my 2qts on that one

Thanks Steven! I dont claim to be the king or know everything by any means, but you all know I always do what I can to help out and share my knowledge. I know EXACTLY how you feel though! It really burns me when someone tries to go way out of their way to prove you wrong.... to THEMSELVES! Ohh well, you cant let it bother you though I know it surely does and you certainly want to "Punch them in the Face!"

No Prob and you def. hit the nail right on the head. There seems to be a lot of that though, especially on the other forums I am a part of; but not on this one.
You may not claim to be the king of transmissions, but it is well known throughout the 3800 community that you are the man to go to. So in your case it is an earned title not a self proclaimed title.

I always try and give info I have, but not step on toes (like our long post in the audio section) there is a way to do it that helps, and a way to do it that causes problems

Exactly, the post in the audio section is an ultimate example of how differing opinions and/or experiences of people who treat each other w/ respect can lead to good info and conclusions.

i'll cut 'em a little bit of slack, but not much... it took me almost a week to figure out that the delco amp behind the glove box is powered only by the speaker input signals. ... my amp wasnt seeming to be working either. so i thwapped it one and it's been fine ever since!

Yeah I haven't even posted in that thread yet, I should so I can join the elite club of good banned members. Syco just doesn't like people trying to help people because he wants to be the head hancho that can brag about "knowing so much" on the forums.

I find I get much better results if I pretend that I don't know diddly...
