we have enough moderation on the forums. there will be no more.

no one said you couldn't donate to the site, get bold names, and change your user titles by yourself.
but the rules still apply. you can't be a bag of dicks for no reason.
But see if there were a noob mod then we could restrict them from posting anywhere but an introduction thread then the noob mod could be sure and link them to several useful threads and explain how to search. This reducing the likely hood that they will repost something or ask dumb questions.
I can see Biodude's point and Josh's point too. There should be some restrictions and possibly a Noob Advisory Committee to police this and really help more than harm. Are there any mods that would like to volunteer to lead the committee?
Noobs are gonna post whether or not you "corral" them.
It's how the interwebs, work.
Yeah, but we can police it is what I'm saying. Direct them to the right locations...advise them how to use search etc...Hell, we could make a Noob Area and a post limit on the other areas so they have to research before they post in there.
You can always lead a horse to water.
I'd suggest drowning the thing.
But I don't understand how sayings work
Well, that's why I said create a post limit and create the Noob Area. If they're here to be serious and learn, they'll follow the post limit, research, and learn as required. If not, we hit them with the ban hammer.
Problem is just that.
You can't go banning people just because they won't research stuff.
If that was the case; 80% of the this forum would be gone.
I didn't mean like immediately banning. The Noob Patrol should be there helping out and getting these guys to research. I wouldn't have learned **** without research and asking questions so I feel others should do the same.
I see plenty of run down GPs around. Most are owned by kids in high school. If I see one owned by an adult it is usually kept up in better shape.
I thought I would save a rant thread for an addition to this one IGNORANT ADULTS, because im a "kid" and not a GM service technician me and my friend cayce's father are butting heads and needless to say im just getting Pi$sed off
so here's the story,
My friend Cayce who is 22, worked his arse off this winter to buy him a truck for college this coming fall. So knowing I'm ASE certified he calls me to look it over as all new owners should do. As im looking it over telling him key maintenance issues of the truck his father comes out hooting and hollering about only GM certified tech are going to touch this truck. He proceeds to ask me for my credentials, Strike 1.
after I walk away and come back he's talking about my skills behind my back. This is the same guy that has had my assistance with multiple issues on his trailblazer, and every bit of advise I gave him I fixed it with out chasing a ghost. for those who do diagnostics know what I mean. ironically now he thinks money fixes all things and young kids are full of shvt. last night his father bought some bosch icon wiper blades after I told him it was a was on a flat windshield and there was too much of an arch on the blade, so later that night my friend takes his truck out and it starts raining, and soon there after is stuck on the side of the road because his wipers don't clear the water... and I wrong for being mad???
After reading through this thread, I'm sure you understand why the stereotype exists, but being that you've already helped this guy and fixed his GM, he should be more grateful. Not all "kids" are like the ones this rant pertains to (and you get to be included in this very small exclusive group.) For instance, my little brother is your age...went into the military and graduated AIT first in his class with honors. He's a sharp kid. But, this thread doesn't pertain to the "sharp kids;" it pertains to the ones who are looking for the handouts...the easy ways...where they don't have to do a thing. That's what we're complaining about.
Ignorant adults do exist. Not saying that sometimes I don't fit in this group as well. But, with everything that is going on and the downward spiral the world is headed in, are we being ignorant or just preparing for the inevitable?
I understand what you mean but its crazy how when he needs help he asks me but when his son does im not "Qualified" nor skilled enough to do so. Now my friend's truck is in need for a catalytic converter and his dad called the dealer for an OEM replacement, guess how much that is? I fvcking laughed my arse off, its $1,100 lololololol.... needless to say I suggested that Cayce should order a walker from Rockauto for 180 shipped... but his father was mad because O'reiley has the same one for +$250 and he is always right. maybe he'll see that im here to advise someone that ive know for almost 7 years
yup that's the reason I got one plus I've always been a fan of Pontiacs so it was my way to get some of bang for my buck
