    Well certainly not better with rust preventative measures. Or common problem fixes, but that's obvious since they fix things as they go along. I do prefer the more aggressive look of the 97-03 exterior. The 04+ is more rounded and more modern. I do like the 04+ interior due to the more sporty appearance. 04+ was my original intention to buy when looking for a car, but after looking at 3 04+, I looked at the first 97-03 style and got it.

    97-03 has cancer

    04-08 no cancer, better seats/better interior

    04-08 has retarded looking headlights

    97-03 has retarded looking taillihgts

    last time i checked prev gen guys were upgrading to our seats and not the other way around

    Yup my 2000, rockers were gone, under gas cap rotted threw, interior sucked, ect. My 04 has no rust except for behind headlights for some reason so that will be fixed soon with rust converter but other than that everything about the 04+ is better.

    Well for one, ive never seen a 04+ go have the mileage that mine does!!!! Lol but yes the bodies on the 04+ are better designed so te dont get rust =/ and i think that the 97-03 are actually a little faster =)

    ive got an 04 gt ive put 21,000 on it in 10 months sits at 136,657 i sanded to bare metal rear bumper and the underside were you would put the jack and did rustolum let dry put car up on the rack washed the entire underside and sprayed the entire underside with that rubber seal stuff you see on tv we will see how it does this winter. it needs new passenger wheel bearing both front axel shafts and a rear sway bar oh and both lower control arm bushings in the front need replaced
    04 GT2: 180 t-stat, cold air intake, reptile tune, plog, hv3, gt1 cam, 90#springs, new push rods, new lifters, port polished heads, lim, uim and tb, 06 Impala brakes and steel brake lines. Cosmetic: black roof rails, under glow, Pontiac ground light, blue hud dic radio controls and cluster. To come custom hood.

    my motor will out last my car i know it will tranny has to be replaced to and new front windsheild





    oh and catch my post counts it will take you a while

    You also have 3-4 years on us so yea its going to be harder to find one with that kind of mileage. Gen V > Gen 3.
