That is so true...
I agree that we are limiting the oil companies by not allowing them to drill, (never heard of them not able to build more refineries, but I wil go with that)
I just think if they (the oil companies) can forcast or predict where the price of oil is going in a natural disaster, they should be able to predict when it will drops as well. Under the way its ran right now, the price goes up when a Huricane gets past Cuba and is heading for the gulf, but when it misses the gulf, the price does not drop for a week or two due to "oil reserves were bought at the higher price"....
Were were those oil reserves a week or two before the huricane hit?
In my opinion they are both at fault....the government and oil companies
In our area alone, there was a big investigation by the news and this is what they found. One oil company was supplying oil to NW Arkansas and SW Missouri....once you take the state taxes out of the equasion, the gas in NW arkansas was 20 cents more a gallon...the news wanted to know why it was more expensive.....Since most of the wealth in Arkansas is in NW Arkansas (due to Wal-mart and all the vendors, as well as a majority of the national trucking companies, and Tyson foods) we can afford the higher gas prices, where there is not as much industry in SW Missouri so they get their gas cheaper. Thats just not right....Shortly after that story ran, the gas in NWA started slowly droping.....
One other thing I would like to know is why are some gas stations going away from 10 cents between grades to 15 and even 20 cents between grades? Is it to keep the cost down on regular fuel while making up the cost on the people that have to use Super?
webracin
Well IMO they know they got us by the short hairs....
and that we are not going to do anything shot of just this--------
about it...
If every one was to buddy up if need be we could do a pretty good dent in there cash flow...
But everyone needs to drive their own car to work ect..
even to that store that is only 400 feet away...
Think things are bad now wait till the summer time when they jump the price up again------> because there potato salad went bad...
and someone has to pay for it...
Rant
i wish we didnt need gas but until that day i will continually allow the gas station to rape me everytime i need some .
This really gets me going. So many people are tired of high gas prices yet is it an issue for any of the candidates? No all anyone talks about is Hilary is a woman and Obama is black. who cares what color they are or if they are a woman. Lets see what they are going to do to make my life and everyone elses better. Lets ask them about taxes, gas prices, Economy, wages, Losing jobs to other countries, etc. All the news wants to address is a woman VS a black man. In the meantime we dont know if a better candidate didnt get a shot because he or she wasnt news worthy. Hilary and Obama get all the air time. Not too long ago I googled the republican race to see how it was going and all that popped up was the Democratic race. Just recently they finally start discussing the republican race but its already been decided basically. Rediculous!
^^^^ I so agree with you on that all I ever hear about is the democrats nothing about the others. I don't really care much for Obama (Osama, hehe) ever since he did not put his hand over his heart when the pledge of allegiance was being said, I'm sorry but I don't have any respect for anybody that doesn't show respect to this country. I don't care if a woman gets elected president but for goodness sakes NOT Billary Clinton!!!!!!!!!!!
I know, I cant believe people arent outraged he wouldnt put his hand over his heart. Many people died for that flag. He should respect what it stands for and those who fought for it.I have a lot of patriotism, I get goosebumps when I sing the anthem. Most of my family has served and fought for this country. I have zero respect for anyone who disrespects our flag.
Another issue, I am not a clinton fan but heck they raked him over the coals on the inhale thing, and here is Obama, ex cocaine user and its not even an issue.
Haven't been really paying attention to the thread, but I just got gas (only put $20 in to get me by till prices drop again) at fkkkkking $3.45/gal (93 octane)! Ridiculous...
^^^^ third time ive seen this and I call bull, I just looked through to DOE.gov site, and BP gets oil from Saudi Arabia.... I don't have time to check all the other companies, but sometimes you need to check facts before you accept everything in a mass e-mail...
No offense to anyone
I'm not offended, I received the email from a good friend. I dont use BP after the debt card scam anyway.
I'll paste all the listings directly from the website. Didnt realize one error was going to be offensive.
This way Only facts will be posted. Hope this time nobody's feathers are ruffled.
It says BP gets 17% from persian Gulf. Saudi Arabia is one of many countries in the persian gulf. BP may not get a single barrel from saudi. My post said saudi oil, not persian gulf oil. So where were my facts wrong?? Where did you get your facts? I am just curious since you questioned mine. Not picking a fight I'd like to know if BP gets it from saudi or not. Personally I dont want any oil from that whole region. So saudi or not BP is off my list of places to get gas. I do appreciate the accusation of fact checking because now I know they get 17% from the region which is still unacceptable to me.
Anyway the next post is not a "mass email" its right from the website to save everyone from looking it up. I also included the link to verify.

OK I hope that is enough fact checking. It is cut and pasted right from the DOE website.
Crude Oil Imports From Persian Gulf 2007
What I read specifically said Saudi, it was an excel format, so I will see if I can find it and copy it
Company Level Imports
Read the company level imports excel, BP gets oil from both the Saudis and Venezuela..... But in their defence, about 1/3 their oil does seem to come from Canada
