Just a fair warning i would stay away, very far away from Will at Overkill. I received my TCM today (took almost 2 full weeks to ship) and it is serisously wrong. The Stabilitrak turns off and wont turn on, the car will not shift under any light throttle, except WOT. Then when it does shift under WOT the shift point is only about 5k. The downshifts need to be done manually and are borderline violent. My stock TCM tuned for 2.93's drive and behave much better than his "expert" tune does. I have started a paypal claim and will let you know what happens but im honestly not expecting him to respond as he never does. Buyer Beware!!!

Honestly good luck getting a response. I have emailed him 3 times in the last week, not to mention all of the other emails he never responds to. I just want to make other people aware he is pretty shady. Plus even if he does respond and he sends a new one out right away its atleast two weeks before it shows up. I just made a dyno tune appointment and will have it tuned there. I just think people need to know that his reputation for not responding to customers is catching up to him.

Sorry to see you got a bad tune on your PCM, I'm sure Will will fix it once he finds our your having problems with it. He is a one man show so be patient as he has lots of emails to respond to and other message boards besides this one he participates in.

    1. Do you know the problem is with the ECM? Re-install your factory unit and make sure YOU didn't screw something up.

    2. Everybody knows Will is a busy man. You should have known that if you did any research.

    3. He is currently on vacation, as stated on his website.

Two weeks before he put it in the mail, or two weeks from the time you ordered?

    1. Yes i know for a fact it is not the ECM as yes my stock TCM is perfectly fine.

    2. I understand being busy, however when i have sent emails and it takes him over 2 weeks to respond that is unacceptable.

    3. Thats great everyone needs a vacation. However i run my own business and even when im on vacation whether it is Hawaii or Mexico i can still get on my phone and respond to client emails.

I paid for the TCM on 07/17/2012, he did not state shipping until July 25th. However no tracking information was provided so i do not know the exact ship date. It did show up today though

Will has never stolen from anybody nor done anybody wrong on the 100 different forums he is on. I'm sure he will correct this as soon as he can. Just so you know, he lives in Canada shipping across the border is no longer as easy as it use to be and he probably gets about 10 orders a day.

And we question your level of installing correctly because you keep calling it a TCM, when its a PCM.

Im not saying he is stealing, but im just saying he is not as good as cracked up to be... And your cute PCM comment, with the LS4 vehicles they have a seperate TCM not just a PCM. So before you attempt to make someone look dumb, get your facts straight. Even on his website he lists it as a TCM so if you're questioning my ability to install correctly because i called it a TCM, what about his ability to tune it correctly calling it a TCM. Just an fyi ive been a GM tech for 7 years, and my Father has been a GM Trans tech for over 35 years. And yes we both currently work at a GM dealership, so the chance of installing it incorrectly well there is none. Heres the copied text from His website, also calling it a TCM... wow

Well this is a mostly a 3800 community. I can't exactly read minds on what car you own.

So did you even email will and give him a chance to respond, maybe a 48 hour wait period. Or did you just go off all mad and hit the claim button right off the bat?

I just realized i did not have my signature setup on this account. Yes i have an 08gxp so its an LS4. I do understand that the TCM is different than a PCM so i appologize for not clarifying this. I emailed him and will not escalate it to a claim for a few days, however i did open the dispute and he can respond there or via email. There have been more than once through out this order that it has taken more than 2-3 days before he responds to an email. Actually closer to two weeks for just some questions. I will wait until Friday and if i have not heard anything from him i will escalate it to a claim. However i still feel that it is fair to the community and everyone else that the details be made known. No im not going to escalate it tomorrow so he has virtually no time to respond, i feel 4 days is plenty.

Shipping from Canada as stated before takes a long time. Any issues anyone has ever had with him have gotten resolved. The fact that you're so impatient as to not to give him a chance to find out what happened speaks for itself and all you have to do is message him on a forum if he didn't respond to your email. Be patient. It was already said that he is a one man show and deals with many orders a week- further, I have dealt with him on a regular basis and he will bend over backwards to help anyone out. Overkill Motorsports is his part time gig seeing as he has a main source of income that is different from the car deal, he may overlook some emails about someone crying that his shipped tune didn't end up as good as expected. It's a known fact that canned or mail in tunes are not as adequate as a real dyno or street tune considering there are so many variables that have to be taken into account which you should know about with your proclaimed familial experience as GM techs.

It has been noted by several people before that he does have a life outside of this, he does not make this his full time business; this is sort of a hobby/trade thing he has going. I know he will make it right, he has been around far longer than you have been a GM tech.

Ill be the first one to admit that i overreacted. However when this is something i've been waiting for almost 3 weeks. I'm sure you can imagine the frustration. And im sure he will make it right, however i know when i had a hard time contacting him the first time i made a post asking if anyone had a contact phone number for him. It seems like the only way to get a response from him is to make a post asking for one. Between working full time as a brake and front end tech and running an up and coming software company i understand being busy, but i dedicate time every night to answer emails and work on bugs. So i typically expect the same from other companies.
