Well I bought my 2003 GT in december and got it because it was a good deal. However before when I was looking around I really wanted a GTP but couldnt find any single one that I really wanted and looked decent so I bought my GT. It has all the options and is a great car but I always find myself browsing autotrader and kijiji looking for a GTP. I just cant help it lol. Anyways I am thinking I could sell my GT which I could get a fair price for and use that to buy a GTP. I was going to start doing some mods to my GT but thought do I really want to put a fair bit of money into it when I can already start ahead with a GTP. So what do you guys think should I sell the very reliable and problem free GT and take a chance on a GTP or stick with the car I have?

I know but my parents would never let me live it down if I bought a lemon and considering I have only had my car for 4 months.

It's the same trasmission minus a weaker Differential and higher gearing.

Top swaps are a waste if your not going with at least a cam... Top swaps are great if you are going for BIG power... Just not really worth it IMHO

save up some money and go turbo. GTPs can blow transmissions just as well as top swapped GTs.

Get a GTP. Save your money, fix the weak links one at a time... Big back seat man. Also, get the 2-door. If lasting is what you want... then look for one with good interior. To me, it's easier to fix exterior pieces.

I will be this summer. Right now I am just going to save my money and hopefully around July there will be something I like for a good price and low mileage. Coupes are hard to find around where I live. A sedan GTP is hard enough lol.

Not reliable? See Below. Why can't you do a topswap yourself? If you can change your spark plugs and oil, you can topswap. Also, if you don't beat on it you don't need tranny upgrades.

Horror stories you say? When everything is properly installed and properly tuned topswaps are just as reliable as a factory supercharged engine.

Please inform me how a 2 door will outlast a 4 door.

I work 6 days a week so I now dont even have the time to attempt a top swap. As for the transmission if im going to be doing a top swap isnt the whole idea of one to add power and make the car go faster? Im going to be hard on it time to time. If I wasnt going to be hard on the car every now and then, I wouldnt want a L67 and would stay N/A. I would want a beefed up transmission. No issues and nothing to worry about.
