Please quote the post you're responding to.

Otherwise you look like you're rambling.

Even then, this could have all been made in one single post.

Remove the wire, and the heat shield should come with it.

if not, just pull it off.

3/8ths drive 5/8ths spark plug socket and a 3" extension.

With that, it should all come together.

I am not a guy. I am a girl. You had said that I needed to reply with quote and if I am not mistaken you said that I could have said everything in one reply. Do you mean to say that I can reply one time with quotes from all whom have made comments?

Hell, its useless anyways, its on a forum.

What percentage of car owners use forums?

So because you're a female thats a valid excuse to not ponder what all of these buttons on this forum do?

Yes, take offense. Just proves your "point" is more emotional than factual.

Sounds like concrete abuse of sexism.

That was ugly of me to say. I apologize for being so rude. I wished I would have included in the poll the option in case no one else had the same issue. I have seen so many of these cars that look like they also having window problems and i guess I should not have assumed that they all must be.

To let you know why your TA didn't have a regulator problem, it's simple if you pull the door panel...you'd understand. There was a bulky and heavy solid metal regulator in there that required a stronger and beefier motor to move the regulator. Your GP has a cable and slide system that when in decent shape, typically works very well. At 199K miles my 2000 Regal may have had one regulator replaced in it's life. That isn't the norm, but I can tell you that those windows were used constantly by the family before me. When i was in the doors doing other work, I lubed the slides and said a little prayer to each of them. So far it's been 2 happy years.

I'm not a huge fan of these cable/slide regulators as I feel they move slow etc and are crappy. Overall though, most manufacturers are using this setup these days to save weight and money that can be put into other things on the car to enhance your driving experience/mpgs
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Darling, it takes a whole lot more than what you have said to offend me. Sexism! Are you kidding me? I believe that would be you based on your ridiculous comment about my point being an emotional one. I have the facts and I also have reported this issue to more than this forum as you say something to the fact that it is just a big waste of time. The only reason that I said that I was not a guy because people kept calling me sir and guy and stuff. I would like to put up my wits against yours any day of the week buddy. Do you think that because you are a moderator that makes you feel like you wanna insult anyone who may want to waste time on here ranting about an issue? Are you the internet police fool? I actually have other more important things to do so if you don't want me posting here, then do what you got to do.

My previous car was an Alero coupe. Its window regulator broke in -20C weather at a drivethru ATM. Cold ride home.

The truth is though, if your car is from the year 2000 its lucky to still be road-worthy. Not trying to insult.

I remember hearing in my mech eng design course that auto's are typically designed to yield reliable performance for 7 years.

Thanks for not being nice. I am sure that you are right. It wouldn't be so bad except that 1 of them went out a little over a year ago (I think) and then just in the last 6 months or less the other three have broken also. As soon as I get through these class that I am taking and hopefully get a job, I then might be able to start getting them fixed. I can replace them myself because I did replace the motor and the regulator on the first one that went out. The part that I got on line though was defective in about 31 days with a 20 day warranty. I had thought that I had hooked it up wrong when I installed it because it operated backwards so I took the panel back off and saw that I had hooked it up correctly and that it had been manufactured internally incorrect. In other words, you know what they look like and it isn't like I can pop the thing apart and fix it. The place that I got it on line sold it to me for something like $50. I should have known it was too good to be true compared the the price of the others I saw on line. it really sucks with all four of them jacked up. The car has low miles and because of that as long as I take care of it, then it would be worth something to someone, but the way it is now, I couldn't even sell it. Oh well, there are plenty of people a whole lot worse off then I am. I wished I knew of a trustworthy source that could sell me the replacements for a fair price where I did't have to worry about getting jacked again. At least I am not driving around in -20c weather as you have. QUOTE=mechguy;779117]My previous car was an Alero coupe. Its window regulator broke in -20C weather at a drivethru ATM. Cold ride home.
