With as much money as you will have to put into the GT, just sell it cheap. Oh and yeah $6000 seems extremely high. When we finally located a car for my son, it was a 2 door 99 GTP with 90K miles, one owner, garaged, had the original order and sticker, old guy, that literally had a diary of dates and services performed, in beautiful condition. Purchased it for less than $6500. I thought the price was too high, but because of the one owner and how meticulous that owner was, my son got the car.
Why worry about the GP when you have the SS? Are you trying to limit the wear and miles on the Impala?
Re: Might just sell my GP
I got a 97 GT 2dr in great shape. 100,000 miles and one real small ding one the drivers side door for 1200 bucks. I've done made a few trips to VA and AL in it.

ok...you got me, some years back a buddy could no longer afford the payments on his pathfinder.... let me just say, it was mad fun!!!! took the car to a local area of woods that is frequented by 4-wheelers, nothing like being able to take a vehicle to it's limits with no worry of having to pay for repairs....it's way better than video games!!!!
when I was done, I built a fire and toasted some marshmellows, he was free from his loan long before they even found the remains....

Well, yeah. That's why I bought the GP in the first place. As long as it's just small things that I can fix myself, I'll keep it. The tranny will probably be the breaking point. If it dies on me before I get it fixed, I probably won't keep it.

ha you would be suprised. my brother is an ins estimater and if they suspect any kind of foul play they WILL do an exstensive investigation. one guy is in prison right now for insurence fraud, all he did was steal his own stero and now hes in prision. they dont play with that. but not all ins. companys are the same.
