    Anyone having a really bad smell coming from the HVAC?

    Can't get rid of it, dealer is no help.

    you can see if you have a cabin filter, some gp's dont. but they get old and smell bad. its under the pass side cowl , the plastic part where the wipers are.

    my ex used to work at a air conditioning shop, she told me that the guys that worked there used to spray pine sol in the intake vent on the pass floor and down the vents,(when customers complained about a stink) the smell you have is a musty stink that only last a few minutes i guess like most old cars get, the pine sol does get rid of it tho.

    get this all the time at the dealership. first off check and replace if you have a cabin filter. we can prob help ya find it once we know what year your grand prix is

    after that we need to educate ya on the recirculate button for your heater controls. this can cause musty smells in your car since it's not pulling fresh outside air but just recirculating air inside the cabin.

    its mold! from the condensation in the vents. that's what i think. almost every car i ever had had a blast of stink from the vents, then it goes away.

    pine sol is at least a cleaner, that should kill it off. or the smell for a while.
