You do need to know how to spell if you want people to understand what you're saying, especially if you're on a forum where you can only type, and not speak >_>

I mean God damn, is it honestly that hard? Most Web Browsers even underline a word if it's not spelled correctly, all you have to do is right click and select the right spelling.

Good welders get paid by the perfection of the bead irrespective of time required?

Regardless, that is a grade school mistake.

However that reaction was completely uncalled for.

Would be hilarious if that person just got laid off.

If you're going to ask if you've been *****ed at for not using it, I'll ask if you have ever been *****ed at for using proper grammar? I have. Nobody's ever happy. :P

It's not hard to type correctly. You went to school for proper grammar.

Even if you don't feel the need to use proper grammar, it negatively affects peoples view of your education.

im not complaining because they said i should use better grammar. its the fact that they took it further and said

"You never learned to take pride in what you do and learned to do it right the 1st time. Attention to details my friend...You're too lazy to take the time to even bother to hit the shift key to capitalize letters."

"agree with everyone on your communication skills. English and Math skills will benefit you the rest of your life. Build your foundation now so you are not living pay check to pay check."

"Once you have submitted an application with proper grammar and you are lucky to get an interview you have to present yourself in the same manner of professionalism and seriousness during the interview instead of walking in dressed in baggy sweats with your addidas hat on side ways spewing " yo yo dawg whats up? When can I start the job?" which wouldn't even work at a car wash."

so bad grammar means you live paycheck to paycheck, dress with baggy sweats and sideways hat and cant even get a job at a car wash.

This is what they said to someone who really didnt care about internet grammar and kinda sided with me (not defending my grammar)

So, bleep, you are comparing someone pretty much still IN school... to someone out for 45 years...

They may have gone over the top with their presumptions about financial situations, or how you dress and so forth, but I WILL say they do have a point in general to a certain extent. Being on numerous message boards throughout the years, I've noticed a direct correlation between how people type, and their intelligence level. It's one thing to make an error here and there. We all do. But when you make the same mistake repeatedly (can't tell the difference between there they're and their, or use an apostrophe before the s to indicate a plural form of a word, etc), it's no longer "an honest mistake". It shows that you are ignorant about proper grammar. Otherwise, to claim that frequent errors are "an honest mistake" indicates that you are too lazy to proofread a few words. Neither one of those reflects well on a person's character or intelligence.

Again, this may not pertain to you, as I don't know you much from here, much less the forum in question. I'm just saying in general, I can see how when people say "I don't care about internet grammar", it can come off as sounding like someone is lazy in general. If hitting the punctuation or shift keys, which are centimeters away from your fingers, is "not worth it", I can understand the presumptions that there's probably a whole lot more that's "not worth it" in that person's life.

You can't treat other things in life like a text message.
