i cant believe nobody did mnetion a duratech taurus yet. lots of power under those hoods and with some stuff dont to it it just awesome.
duratec ftl welded sho ftw
You said this same garbage when you saw me bashing the Duratec in the chat room a week or so ago. At first, I thought you were babbling about the NEW Duratec in the Taurus', which at least has SOME credibility. Then I saw your sig on the boards, and realized you were talking about the POS 3.0L. At that point, I was hoping you were being sarcastic. Now it's become a matter of you're either as unfunny and repetitive with your "jokes" as George Lopez, or you are a complete moron. I'm going to guess from the fact that you feel your car is worth mentioning in your sig, and can't put a coherent sentence together in English (for your sake, I hope English isn't your first language), it's the latter.
News flash: The 3.0L Duratec found in the Ford Taurus from '96 - '99 produced a whopping 201hp/207lb-ft trq. By comparison, the GM 3.4L DOHC (LQ1) started at 210hp/215tq in '91 with slight increases until '97 (last year the LQ1 was produced). The Taurus LX was a high 15 second car at the very, very best. Soooo...where exactly is this supposed "lots of power" you're referring to on the old Duratecs?

Hes not a troll...hes being serious.
only prevalent on 2g DSM's with legit 7 bolt motors equipped with 5spd transmissions (Not the 90-93.5 cars with 6 bolt engines or the 93.5 to 94 cars with 7 bolt "hybrids")
I'd go with an auto/stall in those cars. I had an auto rebuilt for my 93 TSi AWD and that thing was as bulletproof as i could ask for with a Ported/Clipped big 16G, 2G manifold, 660cc injectors, SAFC-II, Crushed BOV, UIP, TB elbow, 2.5" O2 housing w/dump, full 2.5" exhaust with race pipe, 6 bolt bottom end, crower 413 cams, 190lph fuel pump w/hotwire, etc etc etc...
You might be able to BUY the CAR for under 5k with some tasteful mods but count on tripling that to make it go truly fast. Don't ask me how i know.
I love modding Panther platform Fords. Lots of cars out there, lots of power available (obviously, I don't mean stock) and lots of potential. There's nothing a small block Ford can't do.
Owned by old people so they're oftentimes in immaculate shape.
I had a 90' laser waaaaaay back in my day! Ill give it credit, it was decently quick and handle more than it probably should have. Not saying it didn't break......I broke alot of stuff on it. But I was young and beat the piss out of it. If I had some extra cash laying around, id def get a awd manual talon! Fun cars!
necrophiliacs... WHY?
Some people may throw the rice flag but a car that i think is worth modding, has plenty of aftermarket support, is cheap, and has nice styling is 90-93 Honda accords. Im actually lookin into finding one to start a project on.
Why not buy a tempo if you're going for ugly?
Bandits doin' the duty.
