I just want to make this clear. I dont mind a rock if it laying motionless. Its the ones on the move that get on my nerves. I found 15+ small rock chips on my windshield and 30+ on my hood. Sad thing is i dont really follow people too closley either. I just drive down the road and a car goes by and throws a rock and the next one too.

My opinion - Grand Prixs are rock magnets. lol.

i hear ya on the flying rocks, i used to drive on long island a lot, daily, and my windshield looked like it was sand blasted with in 2 years, and the trucks would drop/pick up huge ass rocks, one time one was so big i saw it coming and was able to get it to miss the windshield, by inches, and it hit my visor, and took a huge chunk out of it, that one may have come through the windshield.

Its not the rocks, its the poor paint prep IMO. GM paint is one of the things that has had issues through the 80's 90's and 2000's. Peeling, chipping and fading prematurely.

I was once at a car show, and the last row of cars was next to this gravel surfaced parking lot, just for the entries and bikes to drive on to get to their places and friends of entries etc, and I had a friend entered so my car was parked near his on the side of the gravel.

Well, long story short this riced out honda comes flyin down the edge gravel kickin up so much dust onto everyone's show-ready cars, and he stops.. then when he saw how much he pissed everyone off, he took off doin a burn out on the gravel, spraying everyone's cars (including his own) with the gravel.

He ended up having to pay some couple hundred dollar fine, because we got his license plate and reported it, show the police the damage to everyone's cars and they fined him for something like reckless destruction of property.

Never saw him around town again.. man I bet he felt cool when he got that fine in the mail... I bet he thought he got away with it too.
