so today i took off early to meet with the insurance adjuster on the grand prix to see what the damages was after it was vandalized and broken into and i figured since i got off work early for this that i would go ahead and drop my dodge off for some warranty work for the doors and the trans and get a loaner well those plans seemed to take a wrong turn when i went to drop it off i had already taken my programmer out and put it back to stock but what got me was they told me that i would have to go to the exhaust shop and have my stock muffler put back on in order for them to uphold the warranty so i went and got that done now i have to take off another day to get my truck fixed

So... Your exhaust wasn't compatible with your doors and transmission? You should look over your warranty packet and see what it says about that.

Yeah, that kind of stuff is pretty exclusive to the Dodge/Chrysler dealerships... they have strict rules on that crap.

That's the best decision you could make. I only like my 90 dodge "ram" because the motor and trans were rebuilt before I bought it.

That's actually illegal. Can't remember what the law is called, but it basically says that in order for them to deny your warranty service, they must be able to prove that a modification is what caused the problem.

    Magnuson-Moss Act is the law.

If you are looking at a new truck, check out the new F-150s with the ecoboost.

Not impressed. Ford will never impress me, so I am biased.

They make a better engine than GM now, as far as I know. And I haven't heard anything about glass trannies. We've all got petty preferences, though. for example, I dislike most Ford steering wheels - just not the kind of comfort/design I prefer. I feel like that's pretty legit, though. Saying you don't like any of a major company's products as a rule is kind of like... yoga class? You're too manly to go, but that one guy in there gets three phone numbers a night. From hot chicks. With yoga pants collections.

    Edit: V Yeah, understandable.

I just admitted I'm biased. I could go in more detail the reasons why I don't like them, but I'm not going to jack this thread.

OP, if possible I would fight it and make them pay for getting the mufflers changed and swapped back. Do some research on the Magnuson Moss Act.

Ehh. I've never liked ford trucks. I respect theIr motors, but hate their styling. Plus, gm's new 6.6 is a beast.
