well, yesterday was pay day for managers. however, something happened with the accountant and none of the managers' checks got here until this morning. fine, it's whatever, i'm not in desperate need of money. i was getting two checks this pay period, one from the BK that i work at now, and another from the store i trained at previous (i'm fresh off of a promotion). so i drive all the way to springfield, about an hour south of my house, to have them tell me that it was all put on one check to save me the trip to springfield. cool. so it's in tipp city right? and i can go get it? no. it was sent to springfield for whatever reason and the GM there was going to give it to the GM of the tipp store. which he did. at the general managers' meeting today in columbus.
i can't get a phone call in the middle of this? or an answer to the phone call today when i called springfield to see if i had a check there? so i'm not getting my check until tomorrow.
but it gets so much better. i'm already kinda sorta sick, i somehow managed to catch a cold in august. but earlier i was doubled over in pain, laying on the floor 6 inches from the toilet with stomach pain. called my boss to call off (how are you going to work fast food while you're throwing up?) and she won't let me. all of the other managers are too close to overtime to pick up a 5 hour shift tonight. "well we all have to work when we're sick..." yeah, i did. last night. i had a horrible sinus headache and a sore throat. like i said, i have a cold in august. let me just throw up on peoples' orders tonight, i'm sure they'll understand. and don't even tell me about toughing it out. i'm the same guy that, two weeks ago, had a horrendous first night closing after the computer system crashed my first night of being a manager and then turned around and covered your shift at 10:30 the next day because you had an eye appointment and came back with cops and baby daddy drama. i'm also the same guy that came in 1, as in one, hour early THIS WEEK because you started your period and wanted to leave. you told me i could come in late today, but instead of coming in 1 hour late, i'm coming in 2 hours late. so coming in early to cover your shift again got my hours cut? and you won't let me call off because i'm showing signs of a food borne virus because you've been in a meeting in columbus all day. you're the GM, that is literally in your job description.
give me my check.
