    ok , i like the g8 gt and i have a 04 gt1 n/s ,i want a other car and we have been looking at the g8 , but for the money they want .
    i also thought about the grand prix gxp they are alot cheaper then the g8,but i need some info on them,what year did they first come out ? what mods can be done? and what problems dose it have??need info

    They're not really moddable. There's the cartuning turbo kit, Doug Thorly headers if you don't go that route, cat-backs, and CAI's. That's about it. 05 and up IIRC

    those cars sound pretty mean with the magnaflow catback system and a CAI. I heard the trannies dont hold up that well though

    not huge aftermarket support. 05 was the first year

    Like they say above, not a lot of mod support and a reputation for trannie problems.

    I like mine, it has great driving dynamics. I bought an extended warranty, 48/48.

    is the warranty you got to cover the trans ? or the trans N motor??

    The drivetrain is still covered under the 5/100, but my 48/48 is a bumper to bumper which included mechanical with zero deductible.
    Black Pontiac in PA is the best place to buy these, the local yokels wanted twice as much for some non-GM warranties, which they all pushed claiming it is "easier to get work done by far" to a man.
    Which makes me think they were all on commission from the various warranty companies, odd that they wouldn't be pushing a GM product. But dealerships are weird places anyway.
