more proof that this guy lied! it cant be cammed

well i bought my '99 gtp last month from a guy who claimed that it had a smaller s/c pulley, an aftermarket cam, aftermarket pcm. well when i got there it didnt have a smaller pulley and i couldnt tell if it had a aftermarket pcm without flipping it over to see if it had a sticker from zzp or overkill or whoever. and it had a ****ty cai on it. well when he started it up it defently sounded like it had a cam cause the idle was loopy, well i bought it and a few days later i found a vacuum line disconnected that goes to the throttle body and i fixed that and it idles smooooth. soo back before i bought it when i was looking at it he was telling me it had 94k on the car and the motor, and it showed 171k on the cluster in the car and he said that cluster came from another car because the old one had a crack in it. well he asked if i wanted to see if but i was too stupid to say yes. soo a couple weeks ago i checked out the pcm and it seems stock to me it doesnt shift at 6k on performance mod and it doesnt really want to go any faster than 124mph. He also told me that the s/c is ported but thats something i cant tell unless i pull the s/c. soo i took off the ****ty cai and i just ordered a pcm from overkill. Right now i'm texting the guy's brother cause the guy is at work but he did call me and we talked for a few mins cause i made his brother call me, he said it does have 94k and it does have a cam cause he paid a guy $900 for it to get installed. he said its a comp extreme cam no such thing right? his brother is being all nice and saying he wouldnt lie and he helped him put in the cluster and he was there to drop off the car to have the cam installed. i belived the guy that it did have a cam cause it came with a ds hood and he knew about zzp aftermarket parts but that doesnt mean crap. well i did a carfax tonight and found out that he registered it at 163k and the previous owner before him last registered it at 132k soo theres no way it has 94k original miles. soo when i saw that i had to contact the guy to see if its even cammed but he swear it is. cause i need to know if it is soo i will know what to do when modding, cause i want to know if i can put 1.9's cause if it is cammed i cant install them and i need to get a tune! Soo how can i tell if its cammed without taken the motor apart ? it idles soo smooth. It has stock everything on it. Oh and i forgot that it has a built tranny, but i dont think it is, there is a tage on the side of it and it says gm goodwrench reman tranny soo i doubt its built just a stock replacement.

well since it doesn't really have a loop in the idle is that a good indication that it doesn't have a aftermarket cam ? this is the only thing i need to know. if anybody would like i could take some video's of it idleing and i could do some wot runs, i only have a wizaired cai soo i'm sure you could tell if it has a cam even if its untuned im sure it would run faster than stock ?

I did all my work too, but I still have receipts that I paid for the items, i.e. cam, headers, ported heads, airbox, etc.

Still have the ad with him stating 94000 miles. take him to small claims court for the max in your area. won't be hard to get a ruling against him with a pic of the odometer and carfax history.

Technically, you can pull a valve cover and measure how far up and down the rocker arm moves. That would tell you the amount of lift the cam has.

It really depends on what we are talking about. Obvious mods (i.e. headers) versus internal mods (i.e. cam swap). I wouldn't blanket state that receipts don't mean anything. I bought my 03 Cobra from a guy who was an actuarian; he had a spreadsheet with every mod, oil change, tank of gas noted with dates and mileage.
