I'm switching from my break in oil (Brad Penn) to Schaeffer's oil. My brother is a huge fan of Bran Penn grade 1 20w50w and it seems to do the job. I've recentaly heard good things from circle track guy's about Schaeffers oil so I'm going to run it and send a sample in the lab and see what they have to say about it.
Im still on my break in oil aswell 30 non detergent havoline
Not sure what i will run I just know im going with synthetic
I understand all oil has to meet the low set of standards but Some oils are better then others the additive and such make them different.
I'm a believer in Valvoline Conventional, thats what I run in my GPs and my family has used it for many many years with many vehicles hitting the 500k mark without issues.
I use Mobil1 in my TB SS since GM factory filled those with that stuff (LS2). Figure it wouldn't be a good idea to switch since its had it all of its life before me. This is the ONLY reason I used it. Since its not a DD, it generally gets regular 4 month oil changes like clockwork.
I'm also a believer in 3k or 4 month oil changes religiously. Thats how i've done it and that how i'll always do it. I'm old fashion, I think oil should be changed regularly and thats how I roll. Its worked for us for many years.......
With synthetic i go 5-6k with conventional i go 3-4k theres tons of billboards here saying its ok to go 5k on conventional but I cant do it
Wont let my customers either i have like 15 people i do oil changes for and its clock work i email them every 3 months
15k or when ever I take my car apart on amsoil. Running amsoil for 25,000 in our truck and going to send a sample into the lab.
I have a few customers that im going to switch over to ams they all have newer cars and drive normal so ill be getting some in soon
and to think i charge 70 bucks for a ams oil change
No its not i only charge 30 for a regular and 50 for synth
dont make much off of it but leads to more work..
Yeah we dont make **** off oil changes, but I shake down the front end of the car while its in the air then it leads to $1000 in front end work.
yea i started an oil change for my sisters mazda by the time i finished i found a cracked dp cracked mani radiator leak mud caked k&n filter cracked plug wires and her cv boots were shot and had no grease
she hated me for like 2 weeks when i told her all that
a week later she toasted the engine now shes in an 08 fusion
it could be you get a Jumper some cooking oil and some hot chicks in bikinis and its a party
i gladly pay the high price for royal purple every oil change. i love that stuff
ive never heard anything bad about it
what are the change intervals you do
i go with valvoline synthetic every 6,000. no problems so far...
