I think LOL has been adapted over the years as being able to express humor online.. Now some of the teenagers now a days that use abbreviations while talking such as BFF,LOL,LMAO,OMG thats ridiculous.

I agree with that! However I think saying the letters above is just as bad as texting and typing. The only one I think is ok is LOL. I hate TTYL.(talk to you later)

This whole abbreviated words thing is really getting tiresome. And the posters that insist on using the tired old "lol" in every other postDo these people really laugh out loud all the time? Tell you what, how about actually typing out phrases and complete words for a change.You know, like you should have learned in school.Remember? Here's a few examples.....you are, not ur. probably, not prolly. people , not ppl. Get it?

Ok, I'll pipe in here and say that I agree. I read some of the posts and wonder what the heck people are saying with the "thumbing" talk. I don't function well in that world. I have to look up most abreviations because I can't understand what most people are saying.

On a side note, I refuse to thumb messages to my kids. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I have the ability to dial the numbers and hear their voices on the other end.

English works for me. The invention of the keyboard was incredible and I try to use it to form complete words in complete sentences.
